If someone doesn't make a highschool musical joke from the last sentence in the last chapter I'll be dissapointed.

Derek sighed shoving his food on his plate while a majority of his family talked about football. He hated the sport, but if his father were to ask (which he never does) Derek would deny any negativity towards the sport. Not only did his father love it but so did his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He couldn't escape the sport even if he tried. It was just expected of him to play.

"Der, could you pass the gravy?" His mother called and Derek blinked escaping his train of thought.

"Yeah." He smiled weakly at her and passed her the gravy.

"What's been up with you, Derek?" His cousin William questioned, "any new lady friends in sight?"

Derek let out a soft scoff, "not at the moment, no."

"Any plans of a new lady friend?" Dustin chipped in and Derek suppressed an aggravated groan.

"No I'm more focused on school than girls." Derek sighed and he could see his uncles give each other confused looks.

"What about that girl Paige?" Daniel looked legitimately interested in their relationship status.

"We're only friends." Derek muttered.

He wanted to leave, he'd do anything to leave, but sadly he was stuck there. He looked over at Laura who gave him an apologetic smile. She knew how it felt to be under everyone's questions and then be silently judged for it. Laura wasn't the only one to know that feeling, Talia automatically intervened putting the attention else where.

"Anyway, how's college going for you, Emily?" Talia had taken the heat off of Derek and put it on his cousin.

"It's great! I'm actually loving it more than highschool."

If Derek could drone out all the small talk he would. He pushed his peas on his plate and decided he wasn't very hungry anymore. He usually loved thanksgiving, but lately it's just been his family judging him the older he gets. He was tired of it all he wanted was a nice time and that seemed nearly impossible with all the judging going around. If he said one wrong thing he was a disgrace to his family.

"May I be excused?" Derek looked up gaining the attention of a couple of family members.

"Yes." His father spoke gruffly and Derek nodded.

He slid out of his chair and made his way up the stairs to his bedroom. He shut the door behind himself and let out a heavy sigh. His room was pitch black the moon wasn't out that night so there was no light support. He locked his door and sat down on his bed the weight of his family judging him on his shoulders.

How can I date Stiles when I can't even admit my disliking towards football? Why is this so complicated. Why can't my family be accepting? That'd make life so much mor easier. If only someone in the family could relate. Just one.

"I'm back." Stiles called out as he shut door behind himself.

"Please tell me you got the corn." Scott called back and Stiles couldn't help but hold back a smile.

He walked into the kitchen where his dad, Melissa, and Scott were moving their meals to the dining room. Scott's face fell at the sight of an emptied handed Stiles. Stiles gave him a sheepish smile.

"Sorry bro, Hale took the last can." Stiles grabbed his already served plate and followed them towards the dining room.

"Derek?" Melissa questioned.

"Yeah I saw him walk off with it which is a complete bummer." Stiles lied, "but it's fine."

"But-" Scott whined.

"Fine." Stiles interjected and his dad raised an eyebrow at him.

Every thanksgiving was spent with just them four and Stiles couldn't help but be grateful for it. If it was just him and his father they'd most likely be eating microwave meals. Melissa had invited them the year after his mother died and it had become tradition for the years to come. Not that any of them mind.

"How's your project coming boys?" John looked at Scott and then Stiles.

"I'm almost done with the paper." Stiles bit into his piece of turkey and Scott nodded.

"I just have to glue the parts and we're all good."

"Glad to hear that." John nodded, "we worry about you boys."

"Especially now with the whole supernatural world tying into your lives." Melissa added a disapproving frown on her lips, "I still expect good grades from the both of you."

Stiles nodded giving Melissa a reassuring smile along with Scott. They finished eating in a comfortable silence. Stiles was debating whether or not he should tell Scott about Derek. Scott already knew Stiles was gay, but Stiles knew Scott did not like Derek for some reason. He claimed it was cause Derek had a huge ego but Stiles couldn't see what Scott was. He decided he'd leave it to himself at least until after their first date.

The thought of the date made Stiles's heart skip a beat and Scott turned his way with an eyebrow raised. Stiles shrugged and stood up finished with his meal along with Melissa. He took her plate even after she complained about him not having to worry about it.

"Mom and John can Stiles sleep over?" Scott questioned.

"Is that even a question anymore." Melissa patted Scott's shoulder, "of course he can."

John nodded and both boys high fived as if they had accomplished something incredibly difficult. They both went up to Scott's room once both of their parents started a new conversation. Scott shut the door behind him and raised an eyebrow at Stiles.

"What's up with you?" Scott questioned.

"What do you mean?" Stiles avoided his question rubbing at the back of his neck.

"Your heart...it skipped a beat."
