Chapter six

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you'll land upon the stars

It's been almost five days since our school began and three days since Harry didn't show up at school. Not that I care, I mean I'd rather complete my day without having to feel like a psychotic hot-looking guy is trying to kill me with his gazes. Now, it was finally Friday and that meant we could have some fun. It's almost 7 and I needed to get ready, I switched off my TV and jogged upstairs to my room.

I sat criss-crossed in front of my cupboard, rummaging through various PJ's which basically filled three by fourth of my wardrobe. Huffing in annoyance, I simply pulled out my  sleeveless burgundy crop top and black high-waisted jeans. After grabbing my leather jacket, I finished the look with some comfy vans.

"It's not so bad for a stupid high school party...right?" I asked Katie who was sitting on my bed with an amused smirk. She looked stunning in her off-shoulder beige play suit which reached her mid thigh.

After getting dressed up, I exited my house with Katie. Dylan's car was parked out, he brought Sarah along with him. He was slightly gawking at the sight of Katie but immediately recovered and winked at her. We jumped into the car and wasting no time, he reversed and we were off to the party.

After a long, boring week, we deserved a day off. We needed to free our minds from everything and get high. I wouldn't actually, because first, once Dylan gets fully drunk , Sarah or I have to drive us all home. Second, I'm not so fond of alcohol and next day hangover. Third, I'd have no idea what I'll be doing while I'm drunk. Fourth, I don't know. I don't like the idea of getting drunk.

"Who's getting drunk tonight? Dylan!" He excitedly cheered. There's no doubt that he's not going to get wasted. We finally reached and hopped out of the car. Jade's flat, the sophomore who threw the party, looked like it had fifty or more floors. The elevator took us to the 49th floor. We could already hear the loud music blasting through the walls. The door was unlocked and we entered her luxury house. Katie squeezed my hand in excitement. We were welcomed by the toxic smell of alcohol and cigarettes. I seriously hate the smell of cigarettes since my childhood, my dad used to worship cigarettes and I could never stand the smell of it.

My gaze fell on a group of teenagers, only to find them making out and dancing to the loud music. Honestly, party isn't my thing. But why not give it a shot for one day? After all ,my friends are here. They are all party goers, all ready to get drunk.

An obnoxious sound of heels clacking against the tiles pulled me out of my thoughts. Jade was walking towards us, her red lips pulled in a grin. She welcomed us with a wide, excited smile, trying her best to keep it real but failing miserably. We all spoke to her for a while. Mostly talking about who's going to get drunk and stuff like that until she left us to greet others. Dylan vanished in the crowd to god knows where. But to my assumption, I'm pretty sure he went to grab a bottle of beer. Katie, too rushed to meet one of her friend and I'm left alone with Sarah. She pulled me to the dance floor and we both start dancing to the beat.

I swayed my hips with the music and raised my arms in the air. To my surprise, this party was going well until now and I hope it stays the same the whole time. Dylan popped out of nowhere with two glasses of wine in his hands. He gave one to me which I refused and the other to Sarah. We all sat on the couch in the corner of the hall.

"Where's Katie?" Dylan asked, sounding a little concerned.

"I don't know, she headed off to Stephanie." I replied. But as soon as I said that, his question was answered as Katie appeared through the crowd with Stephanie. She's her partner in our maths class. I couldn't help but notice how different Steph is from others. She was dressed in something moderately appropriate than the other girls in this room and the aura around her was so happy.

"This is Sarah, Dylan ,Victoria and guys this is my friend, Stephanie." Katie introduced. I managed to give her a smile and she returned her sweet, heart warming smile. Her features were attractive. She had brown eyes, dark but glowing skin and black hair. She's gorgeous in honesty. We all chattered for a pretty long time, none of us fully drunk. Dylan grabbed my hand and pulled me to dance with him. We headed towards the dance floor, stumbling over bodies, too intoxicated to even notice that they were laying on the floor. How obnoxious.

I placed my hand on Dylan's chest as he wrapped his arms around my neck, pulling me closer to him. We started moving to the beat. I laughed at his weird dancing moves.

"Keep laughing, we all know I dance better than you!"

"Just look." I started imitating his moves to show him how he looked. His face fell but soon he recovered with fits of laughter. The music became slower and more romantic. No wonder who would like to choose a song like this for a high school party. However, my arms wrapped around Dylan's neck and his around my waist. I rested my head on his shoulders, enjoying the warmth radiating from his body. We obviously didn't look like best friends, but I couldn't care any less about what others thought. Ever since we've been friends, there's not even a single day we have fought. Even if we did, we would forget it and continue our friendship.

Call me a nerd, but our friendship is stronger than an ionic bond.

"Isn't Katie going to kill me?" I rested my chin on his chest and look up at him.

"Nah, she should know I'm chilling with my best friend aka my soul mat-sister." He corrected himself whilst smirking down at me, I giggle at his choice of words.

"Even if she's jealous, she can shove you to the ground and dance with me." He teases.

"God Dylan, you're not teasing me, you just want her to dance with yo-"

"No! Oh god I never sai-"

"Right, just tell me and I'm ready to be your Cupid." I wiggled my brows at him, he lets out a sigh, signalling that he gave up. I crossed my eyes and stuck my tongue out at him, making a weird but funny face. He cringed and said that he doesn't even know me anymore . I pulled him in a tight embrace and swayed our bodies from side to side and tried to enjoy the moment of annoying him until my eyes met a pair of dark, blazing eyes burning into mine.

My breath hitched in my throat and I pulled out from the hug, already feeling uncomfortable about the current situation. I could feel his hard stare as he slowly wrapped his lips around the rim of a tall wine glass, gaze still carefully lingering on me. He looked as if he was in a deep thought and maybe that's why he didn't look away yet. How long was he watching me? I shifted my gaze back at Dylan who was too, looking at the same person as I was. This boy surely had a thing for me. If not that, then he has something to tell me.

I couldn't help but stare down at his body, my lips parted in amazement. We were somehow twinning, I thought to myself. His slim, fit body was covered in thin white t-shirt accompanied by black leather jacket and dark jeans. He was wearing black boots and once again, his messy curls were pushed back by his bandana. His features looked chiselled, his jawline seemed as if it could cut a piece of paper. He looked like a damn Greek god.

Was he even real?
