Dear Alex,
So there's a guy that likes me(lets call him bob), but I don't like him. I like someone else, but the guy who i like is dating someone. So I was texting bob and i said maybe if he asked me to the dance (that's coming up at my school) I would say yes.
So my problem is that if bob "asks me out" I don't really like him so i would probably say no, but i don't want to hurt his feelings, because he really is a nice guy.
What should I do???

Well firstly you shouldn't have suggested it to him if you really didn't like him. The thing with this is you can always go to a dance and just be friends and nothing more. So it would be best if he did ask you out that you said that you would only be willing to go as friends and nothing more so he doesn't get the wrong idea and which won't be hurting his feelings because you did still say yes but if you really don't want to go to the dance with him then just politely decline and say that you don't want to go anymore and stuff if you aren't going that is.
