Chapter Ten - Crush Crush Crush by Paramore

"Notice your eyes are always glued to me. Keeping them here and it makes no sense at all."

Katherine and Scott walked across the field to encounter Boyd. "I want to talk to Derek." Scott said, standing in front of him.

"Talk to me." Boyd said, without any emotion.

"I don't want to fight." Scott said, trying to show him that he just wanted to talk.

"Good, 'cause I'm twice the size of you." Boyd said, and Katherine almost laughed.

She butted in, "Katherine's okay with fighting." but the two ignored her.

"True." Scott realized, "Really, really true. But you want to know what I think? I'm twice as fast." he explained, then tackled Boyd to the floor, while Katherine just thought about how she did not see that coming.

"She failed the test." Derek said, appearing out of nowhere.

"Yeah, which doesn't prove anything." Scott said, and Katherine nodded agreeing. "Lydia's different."

Derek looked at Scott, "I know, at night she turns into a homicidal walking snake." Sighing, Katherine was about to bang her head against the ground below her.

"I'm not going to let you kill her."

Derek raised his eyebrows, looking between all the three. "Who said I was gonna do it?" Katherine was confused, but watched as Scott looked back at the school.

Moving forward to run, Scott was tackled to the ground by Boyd, and Katherine crouched down to the ground next to him, watching him groaning and coughing. " I don't know why you think you have to protect everyone now, Scott, but even so, Lydia has killed people and she's gonna do it again, and next time, it's gonna be one of us." Derek explained.

"What if you're wrong?" Katherine asked, "Cause' Katherine is very good when telling that someone or something is wrong, okay?"

"She was bitten by an Alpha. It's her." Derek argued.

"You saw that thing up close. You know it's not like us."

"But it is!" Derek yelled, frustrated about the argument. "We're all shapeshifters. You don't know what you're dealing with. It happens rarely and it happens for a reason."

"What reason?" Scott asked.

"Sometimes the shape you take reflects the person that you are." Derek pulled Scott up from the ground, making Katherine realize why she hadn't done that earlier. "Even Stiles calls her cold-blooded."

"Well, what if she's immune? What if she's got something inside of her that makes her immune to the bite, which is why she didn't get paralyzed?" With all these questions, Katherine was trying to put the pieces together in her head.

"No one's immune! I've never seen it or heard of it. It's -It's never happened."

Katherine looked up from the ground, "What about Jackson?"

"That's why you tested him, isn't it? Because you gave him what he wanted, didn't you?" Scott asked, knowing what was happening as well.

"Scott-"

"Peter said the bite either kills you or turns you. You were probably hoping that he would die.But nothing happened, right? And you have no idea why, do you?" Scott said, cutting Derek off.

Derek was even more angry from what Katherine could tell by his facial expression, but then again she knew Derek always had that face on. "No."

"Well, I have a theory." Scott announced, "Lydia's immune, and somehow she passed it on to Jackson. You know I'm right."
