A small smuggler class ship approached the atmosphere of Coruscant, missing the main entry docking port, and heading right to the slums of Coruscant's docking bay. The pilot eased on the brakes and shut off the engines, letting out a hiss as the ship landed and stayed still. Grabbing the small bundle of goods that were destined for a buyer with a high buyout, he carried it in his arms as if it were a small child. Which it was. The half-sleeping babe gave a soft cry and reached out of the swaddle before the smuggler tucked the small hand back into the blanket and wrapped it up tighter.

"Shh, little one. Don't you cry. Or you will cause more trouble than you're worth." The man hushed the little girl and hid her bundle under the cloak that was draped in a way to appear normal.

Walking in the darkness to avoid the flickering street lamps of the undercity, he looked for his buyer in the designated alley, when the small child started crying again.

"Shhh."

"Stop that crying or I will change my mind." A gruff voice spoke, the buyer coming out of the shadows at the other end of the dark alley, a place no one wanted to be for long, in fear of being stabbed in the back and left for the dead.

The smuggler gave the girl the pendant around her neck to suck on, and stood tall to the customer before him, "You got the credits?"

The other man held up a bag full of credits and jangled it for his supplier. "Depends if you got the goods you promised me."
"Not exactly what you wanted, but it is better." He took the bag of credits and dumped a few out in his hand to make sure they were real and unmarked, before handing over the baby girl to the other man. "You feel that? That tingling running up your spine? The shiver of goosebumps running over your body? That's from the child. That's the force, like how you wanted a force-sensitive child. The whole planet was like that."

"I do feel that. And I am not force sensitive myself. What planet was this?" He pushed the blanket away from the girl's face to see the tufts of green hair that was growing to match her equally green eyes as she ate the flat pendant.

"I don't know. But it was all the way out where the star maps don't go."

"Hm. Worth more than they seem. We will see how this one grows before we consider expanding our operations out there."

"We could get rich from this. Me getting them and bringing them to you, you selling force-sensitive children as slaves." He got a dark, smirking look, unaware of the person walking near the entrance near him that was wearing a long, brown hooded cloak was listening in.

"Perhaps. Get me another, and I will see where we go from there. Now, we must separate. Speak of this to no one else."

A hiss and a hum was heard as a lightsaber lit up, and the hood of the cloak fell, "Stop. You are both under arrest for illegal child slavery and the endangerment of a child."

"Crap! Jedi!" The two bolted, both heading down different ways, hoping that the Jedi would chase the other.

The Tholothian woman gave chase, her purple lightsaber lighting the alley as she quickly used the force to hoist herself up onto the top of a perch to see where the two alleys they went down would meet to a dead end, as the underworld was always filled with dead ends.

"There." She flipped off the perch and onto the low roof of another building, using the force to soften the crash before she ran and jumped off another one, barely gripping the top of the next building with her lone hand. She turned the blade off and hooked it onto her belt, pulling herself up and running to the dead end, where the two men met, panting out of breath.

"We can't let the Jedi arrest us. It would ruin our plans!"

"But did she follow you? I don't think she followed me."

"Maybe we lost her?"

"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that." The woman dropped down in front of them, cornering them. Her lightsaber lit up again, as they aimed their blasters at her.

She reached out one of her hands and gently lifted the small child out of one man's arms, wishing for no harm to come to them should the men fire.

"Hey! You can't take that!" They growled and chose to use their fists, not wanting the merchandise damaged.

The Jedi quickly disarmed them, using the force to knock their heads together as she was careful to not drop the child as she lowered the bundle into her arms. "Well, hello little one. What is your name?" She carefully pulled the blanket away from her face, stepping back as some of Coruscant's police put the men in cuffs.

The baby cooed and reached for the tendrils that dangled in her face.

The Jedi gave a soft chuckle and sensed the force within the child. "I believe there are some people you need to meet."
She went and grabbed her hoverbike, powering it up, and driving back to the temple, careful to keep balance as she lifted off and landed.

"Welcome back, General Vulkri." A temple worker nodded, helping her off the bike.

"Thank you. Is the council in session?"

"I do believe so, yes."

"Thank you." She nodded and went down the long halls to the staircase to the council chambers. "Don't worry little one, you will be safe here." She gently stroked her head.

She knocked and waited to be called into the chambers. As soon as she heard her name, she entered.

"Greetings, council." She bowed slightly.

"Welcome back, Master Vulkri. What is important that you requested our presence?"

"I was down in the lower levels of the planet, and I rescued this small child from some child smugglers. She is strong with the force, and unlike any, I have ever seen."

"See this child, I must." Grand Master Yoda got up, using his cane to walk over to the Tholothian, who kneeled down so the small master could see.

"This child is any species I have seen in a long time not. The child, a hybrid, must be, but yet seems strange not. Either the first of her species, she must be, or the last. Or unknown to us, they are." Yoda looked at her, as the girl slowly opened her green eyes and saw the old master.

She cooed and reached for him, revealing a small pendant around her neck, with a name on it.

"This pendant bears a name. Mira. To the other younglings bring Mira down. She, well guarded and will be trained, will be. "

"Yes, master." Vulkri nodded and took Mira down to the nursery, where three other younglings played, all two years older than her.

They poked their heads out curiously at the little girl that the master had put down near them.

"Don't worry little Mira. You will be safe now." Vulkri smiled, placing her down in a crib, and left the nursery as Mira dozed off, still bundled in the same blankets she was found in.
