Chapter 4, Happy with who's who

We sat around the long table, with a wonderful assortment of foods. Chicken and mashed potatoes, veggies and biscuits, are to name just a few. Mrs. Jones went all out. I don’t remember the last time I ate so good. Well I can't remember anything past the morning I woke up with my wolves, or I guess now I would call them my boys.

After I had woke up, Damon had talked to me a little about what he and his, now that I know, two sons are and what it means to be werewolves, I was quite happy in all honesty to find out they were not lying. Cay and Gar are seven and nine, and are just as wonderful as wolves as they are being human. We all sat around the bed and talked for a long time, about random things, about trying to get me to remember before I met them but I couldn’t, as hard as I tried I couldn’t. So we just talked about their adventures and where they came from. Turns out there are things such as packs, and that was what they were, a pack. Though the rest of their pack had apparently had an accident, they didn’t tell me what happened but I didn’t push on it.

Dae sat with me after that, just holding me. I wasn’t crying or anything but I needed the hug. He made me feel safe, like a Daddy should, and I told him that.

“Dae, you make me feel safe, safe like a Daddy does, why is that?”I asked quietly as he played with my hair, twisting it around his big finger as I played with the buttons on his blue plaid shirt.

“Because I am a Daddy squirt, so I treat you the same way. How does that sound?” his voice was soft as he spoke.

“Dae?” I asked pausing as I thought my words over, before I said them “Could...could you be my new Daddy?” I asked, I didn’t look up to see his face just in case he said no I didn’t want him to see me cry again. Big girls don’t cry, and I'm a big girl. He didn’t pause to long and what he said made me smile bright.

“Of course squirt, we love you” he paused and cleared his throat to whisper “I can be your new Daddy” I was so happy, It felt like a weight on my shoulders had lifted, I felt much better then before, in fact I felt great. I had me a new Daddy.

That was the last of our talking as supper had been called. The boys had changed back and I thanked them for staying with me while I slept. They both hugged me and gave me a kiss on the forehead and said bye to their dad, they went to play with Ash.

So now we were sitting around the table, putting food in us as if we hadn’t ate in months, which in someways is how I feel. I was so hungry it almost made me sick to eat. But after slowly, and small amounts I managed to get some down. Daddy sat at he head of the table and I sat to his right, with Cay next to me. Then went Mrs. Jones at the other head of the table and then, Ash and Gar next to Daddy, everyone mowing down the food. I smiled as I looked over at Cay. I felt so comfortable with these boys, they were my new family and already I loved them so much. Cay saw me smile and put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into his side as he kissed my head. I just smiled and snuggled into him as he held me. He didn’t seem to mind, and he could still eat.

Dinner didn’t take too long and before I knew it we had dessert. I wasn’t hungry so I asked Daddy if I could have a bath and go to bed. Then I asked if Cay and Gar would stay with me, and they agreed as long as they didn’t have to “go wolf” as they put it, said they wanted to stretch out. I smiled and agreed, as Daddy led me upstairs.

I didn’t mean to be rude or ignore Mrs. Jones and Asher, I just wasn’t comfortable with them yet, and I hoped they understood that. They were polite and asked questions at dinner, but I just shrank into Cay. After that the only ones to direct questions at me was Cay and Daddy. Throughout dinner I noticed that Asher kept looking at me. I didn’t know why but it made me feel a little scared. I mean he seems like a nice boy but there's just something about him, that I didn’t know how to feel about him.
