Chapter 26: I Need Your Help (EDITED)
Hayden
Why was I doing this? I shouldn't be doing this, it wasn't right, my head and my heart screaming the same thing so why wasn't I listening to it? I did as she told me to, but this idea is completely ridiculous. I raced as fast as my feet could possibly carry me to get off the ship. We flew as fast as we could until we were camouflaged within the clouds. I kept looking back down at the ship but still moving further and further away. She made me promise, I could never break a promise unless it was good reason to. Wasn't this a good reason to go back and break a promise? This mental argument with myself wasn't gonna get me anywhere; I needed to make a decision and fast. I slapped myself in the head and made my way back towards the ship. We sped towards it as fast as possibly but got blocked by what looked like a Nadder. It was obviously a girl, her scales were red with hints a sapphire blue and her eyes were blinding but beautiful at the same time. I knew each feature from anywhere; it was Crystal, Willow's dragon. But what was she doing all the way out here and not back home? "Hayden where do you think you're going?" I looked up without a second glance and saw Xira sitting on top in Willow's place "Xira! You're okay!" I exclaimed at her; I felt a surge of energy pass through me knowing that she was safe just like Willow intended her to be but most of all she could help get her back. "I'm fine," she stopped her statement and looked around then back at me "Where's Willow? How did you get off that ship I've been watching it all night?" I shook my head with sorrow written deep within my eyes "She did something to get the key to my cell but only mine which meant I had to leave her behind while she helped me escape," my head lowered in what felt like shame.
"And you think you're gonna get her back all by yourself?" I looked back up at her and shrugged slightly while her gaze was concerning "That was the idea..." however I trailed off now thinking it wasn't such a great idea. "She made you promise not to get her didn't she?" I nodded at her question slowly "Exactly, and that's what your gonna do until," but I stopped her as my emotions were fuming "You can't be considering leaving her there Xira, who knows what's gonna happen down there with him knowing what she did," she laughed at me making me confused to why she was laughing "I didn't say that Hayden, but you can't go down there without help and two of us isn't gonna be enough, you know who you need to get," I knew exactly who she was on about so I was off before she could speak another word. We flew at a speed that I've never gone through before, the wind slapped across my face but I didn't care, I knew how important this was so I needed to get there fast. The moment my feet touched the land of Berk, Corinne, Nathan, Kai and towards soared over towards me each sharing the same expression. Immediately my words escaped "I need your help," each exchanging looks I was dragged up to their house where the chief was. I had no choice in the matter as Corinne intertwined her fingers through mine harshly and took me the hill with no remorse. We entered her house and I saw as her dad was pacing back and forth in the house while her mom was sat down looking nervous.
Each of their eyes landed on me as Corinne pushed me forwards without hesitation. "Hayden!" both exclaimed in unison. "Where's Willow?" her dad asked anxious. "That's what I need to talk to you all about," I sat down quickly "Nathan, Corinne go with Toothless for the moment while we discuss this matter please," her dad said "But dad that's-" but her dad cut her off "Corinne do as I say right now alright," she scowled and went outside with Toothless and Nathan who also shared the same expression as she did. Their gaze landed back on me along with Kai and Taylor. I started from the beginning, how she was able to save Xira, then save Nathan but in exchange for herself and how she did everything she could to make contact with them through the means of Corinne so then she could also steal the key from Jayden for my cell and get me out but leaving her in the process. "Typical Willow," her dad growled under his breath. He turned to Astrid nodding "Get Stormfly saddled up and your dragons, we're leaving straight away," we all nodded and went out separate directions to get ready. I headed back outside and suddenly got pulled harshly to the side of the house. I was faced with an angry Corinne and Nathan, forcing me against their house. "You didn't think we wouldn't try and get it out of you did you?" Corinne said harshly to me. "I knew you would try which was why I was going to tell you anyway, she wouldn't like it but right now you're all she has," Corinne let go of me and they both stood and listened to what I had to say. I didn't tell them everything, only about what had happened leaving the main points of Nathan out of it. So basically I made most of it up except how she tried communicating through Corinne, I figured that part was probably the most important.
They exchanged looks with each other smiling widely finally knowing something interesting about their sibling. I was about to walk away to get ready with the others but my arm got pulled back by Corinne he exclaimed "Thanks so much Hayden," her lips suddenly crashed against my cheek and surge of energy pulsed through each nerve and vein in my body. It felt like an electric shock pierced my body as I stood their frozen to the scene. My eyes widened in shock as my body tensed and I couldn't speak. Nathan looked just as shocked as I felt but Corinne looked the most awkward out of the three of us. I don't think she realised what she just did because her cheeks flushed bright red and her fingers were curling down by her side. Then her voice stammered "Right anyway, let's go get my sister back." I exchanged looks with Nathan as our eyes followed her leave then back to each other where he was now smirking at me raising his eyebrows in turn "Oh shut up, come on," I laughed and we both ran and got on our dragons. Well at least I did, Nathan didn't need one. Just as my foot was about to knock into the side of my dragon to take off a voice boomed slightly "Oh hold on you two aren't coming with us," Corinne glared at her father "That's our sister out there so don't you dare hold us back," he had no choice but to let them come with us so he sighed and agreed. She looked over at me and I smiled and immediately looked away. But I swear I could see a slight blush under her cheeks. After that we all took off, I took the lead and we made our way back to meet Xira.
