Chapter 35: People Do Terrible Things When They Meet the Edge (EDITED)

Hayden

"So you're just gonna hand yourself back over just like that?! Remember what happened last time?" I spoke truthfully the worry written through each word s my voce trembled with fear "No I'm not...that's why I'm gonna kill him," my firm grip on Willow's arm loosened as I felt my insides tremble even more and stomach do cartwheels in fear of the words which escaped her lips. My hands fell down her arm as I was shaking my head "Willow no...Willow don't this," the tremble in my body now escaped fully through my lips. Her eyes shone with darkness...with vengeance but this wasn't her and we all knew it. He was turning her into someone that she isn't. Is that part of his plan? Ruin her, change her so she no longer see's the good in what there is to come? She whispered at me never lowering her head in shame "I'm sorry I have too," confident in her answer. Her shoulder brushed past me as I stood frozen in my stop. I was stood there staring in nothingness, amazed, shocked, confused at her words. My eyes connected with Kai as we both shared the question what do we do next? I ran my hands through my hair and ran out the door following her lead. Kai followed my lead as did Corinne who sped up in front of me shouting her sister's name in fear "WILLOW!! WILLOW STOP!!" I and Kai trailed behind her, but we were too late, she had already kicked Crystal into the sky and disappeared into the midnight. We all stood frozen in place staring along the horizon where she vanished.

Corinne's footsteps slowly turned around to face us. Her eyes welling with tears, either of sadness, anger, confusion, hurt or a mix of all. "She's gone isn't she?" We spun round to see their dad standing there fuming. He stared me and Kai down in the eye which felt deadly "You have to get her back before she does something she regrets, if she does what I think she's about to do it will ruin her and she will never be able to carry the weight on her shoulders before she does another reckless move, find her and bring her home," we both nodded in unison as he headed back inside. "Where is she going?" I and Kai turned back to face Corinne and the questions that had yet to come. "We...we can't tell you..." Kai mumbled nervously, I could feel my palms sweating against each other and my heart pumping blood round my body at rapid speed, making me feel the sweat trickle down my spine and face. "Your seriously not gonna tell me where my sister magically decides disappear to after our brother falls ill, or whatever you wanna call it!!" she screamed in rage. "She'd kill us if we told you," Kai carried on, "Well in a minute you will both be dead if you don't tell me where she is?!!" I just stood awkwardly, not really knowing what to say, every time Kai looked towards me for help all I just do was shrug. "Fine, remember that day when the village suddenly was under attack," Kai started "Yea, when that guy called Jayden showed and asked for Willow and he crushed his hand and suddenly Nathan fell in pain, what about that day?"

"Well, that's why Willow keep's disappearing, she's had trouble with him ever since she first set foot off the island, no one knows why, but she just does, and that's where she has gone because she believes that he is the one who has caused this tonight," Corinne shook her head and commented, "But that's impossible, he is miles away and can't cause no harm to Nathan, so why would she think that?" this time I finally stood in and spoke "There are many things you don't know and understand Corinne, and she wants to keep it that way, you've heard more than she would have wanted you to, but you can help us get her back, but that's it, because we know that we can't stop you from doing that." Kai slammed his eyes at me "Good, then let's get going," she said forcefully. "What are you doing?" Kai demanded, "She knows who he is now, so she can help get her back, she doesn't know the whole truth and never will, unless Willow wants her to, but she deserved that much alright, now go and get Taylor," I ordered. He threw his hands up in the air again in frustration and walked away to find her. Once everyone was together we took off, surprisingly it didn't take that long to find the ship, but at the same time, it was way too quiet. With the expression covering Kai and Taylor's faces they were thinking the exact same thing as I was. We landed silently and saw that all the men were knocked out on the deck, "Willow took down all these men by herself and didn't get caught," Taylor asked surprised at the sight. "Well she can do many things when she's angry obviously," Corinne answered. Never get on Willow's bad side that's for sure.

As soon as we speak the men do decide to wake up. Some start to give small murmurs such as 'what happened?' or 'my head hurts' they pushed themselves off the ground like domino formation in reverse. All their eyes landed on us individually. "Alright maybe we should split," I suggested and they nodded taking a part of the deck each, so Willow may have taken them down single handily and yet we had to do it the hard way, lucky us. "Hayden find Willow," Corinne told me, my eyes widened "She's you're sister you go find her," I told her back "It's like you said, she doesn't want me here, so if I find her she won't listen, she'll listen to you now go," I sighed and went below deck. It was gonna be pretty obvious where she was gonna be, so there was no point in looking everywhere and hearing the sounds coming from the end of the hall of the bottom of the deck was a perfect clue for my finding her. I raced down the hall, and tried busting the door open, but for some reason it was jammed. I mumbled to myself "Dammit, Willow open the door!!" I slammed as hard as I could possibly go. Kick after kick I felt the door begin to loosen and unlatch. One more kick and the door pushed open and I made my entrance. But only to be enfaced with something I didn't want to see, Jayden was led on the floor, battered and bruised, Willow's hands covered in blood and scars from the punching, I bet she used the kicks as well. But at the moment, he was curled up on the floor laughing "It feels good doesn't it, the power, the anger, the torture, makes you feel something you've never felt before," he was teasing her. She pulled him up by the hem of his hair holding his face next to hers "I should have done this ages ago, then none of this would have ever happened," she stood up to him, putting up her defences and finished "Say goodbye Jayden," wait goodbye? She stood up and red mist swirled around her hand and she crushed it hard, her knuckles turning snow white in anger. "Willow stop!!" I shouted. It took her by surprise making her hand loosen grip and she turned around at me.

"Don't tell me you don't think he deserves this because he deserves every single little pain he is enduring, not after everything that he has done it can't just get away with it, he can't and I won't let it, it will only end if he ceases to exist," she cried in pain, tears almost streaming down her face "So I have to do this," she finished now just full of pure anger, crushing her hand back together causing more pain for Jayden, "I can crush his insides and he can be gone in a split second or I can make the pain last and last forever." I moved myself closer to her step by step "Willow stop this, if you do this what will it do? It won't stop the pain, it won't stop the suffering; it won't cure anything. If you do this you are no better than he is, you're be just like him," her voice went rough and harsh "I am nothing like him!!" crushing her hand tighter than it already was going, "Exactly, your Willow and the girl I know would never hurt anyone, she would never kill anyone. This isn't you...Willow this isn't you," I moved over to her and placed my hand on top of her pushing it, I moved my fingers in between her own until her breathing calmed down and her grip loosened and her fingers lapsed into mine. "That's it, your okay," I turned her round as she let her head fall onto my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her, I held her close into my chest as the tears fell from her eyes. "You see her don't you?" Jayden spoke up from the ground, Willow's head turned to look at him but I held her tightly away from him "The girl with the auburn hair, the girl with the green streak passing through her hair."

"How did you?" Willow stammered before I pulled her away towards the door "Until you meet her Willow, the dreams will never go away," I blocked her ears from the words he spoke and took her up on deck. Her head fell back into my chest as I could feel her tremble and shake I ran my fingers through her hair. "Willow!!" Kai called running over, I let him take her and watched as he held her close while I walked to Corinne "See I told you she would listen to you." But I could hear the hurt in her voice that it was me instead of her.
