Chapter 8 - Plans

It's October. Riley and Maya have settled in. They're making their way through college by sticking to the other's side. It's Wednesday. The girls are getting ready, listening to old vinyls.

The two girls stood in front of the mirror. "Yep. We're definitely the cutest girls on campus." Maya said. They laughed, grabbed their bags, and walked out of the door. As they walked through the courtyard, Maya saw Josh. "You go ahead. I'll get our coffee." Maya said. "M'kay. See you in a minute." Riley said, walking. Maya walked to the coffee cart line. She tapped Josh's shoulder. He picked her up by her waist and held tight. "Hi!" He said. "Where's that niece of mine?" He asked. "She went ahead to our first class and I...am getting our coffe." She adjusted her bag on her shoulder and smiled. "Wonderful. Wonderful. Hey. Would you want to hang out tonight?" He asked as he bought three coffees. "Oh! Yeah. I forgot to tell you. Riley and Lucas were gonna go out tonight and she mentioned that she wanted us to tag along." She said. He gave her a cup and they started walking. "Likee...a double date?" He asked. "Umm-humm." She said, sipping her coffee. "Well, If I get to be with you, It doesn't matter who we're with. I'll go." He said. "Thank you so much. I'll call you and tell you the restaurant and time tonight, okay?" She asked. He handed her the extra coffee. He pecked the side of her eye because of their height difference. "I'll see you tonight, Maya." He said and was around the corner. Maya walked into the room and sat next to Riley. The table had 5 chairs but no one else sat with them because they didn't know a lot of people. They kind of liked it, though. The two were super close for as long as they could remember. Riley took the cup. "Thank youuu." She said, her voice going up. She put her purse on the chair and opened her binder as she put her coffee down. "You are so welcome." She said, cheerfully. "You're awfully peppy today." Riley said. "Yeah, well." Maya said. "Josh was at the coffee cart, wasn't he?" Riley smiled. Maya turned towards her, resting her chin in the palm of her hand, and nodded. "What'd he say?" She asked. "I got him to agree to go with me, you, and Lucas to dinner tonight." Maya twirled her ponytail. "Oh, gosh. I forgot about that. What are we gonna do about that test in a few days?" Riley raised one eyebrow. "Sounds like a good 'the night before' project!" Maya said. They laughed. A few hours later, the girls finished all their classes. It was only 2:00pm. They walked to their dorm. "Riles, what time is our reservation?" Maya yelled to Riley, who was in the other room. "Ummm...6, I think." She called. "Okay, thanks!" Maya yelled. She called Josh. "Hi, gorgeous." Josh answered with his adorable voice. "Hi, Josh! Okay, can you meet us at that fancy french resturaunt down the street at 6?" She asked, resting her hand on her cheek. "Okay. I can't wait to see you!" He said. "Thank you so much, really." She said. "Sto-op." He laughed. "Sorry, you're just so...ughh. Bye! I'll see you soon!" She said. "Alright. Byeee!" He cooed. She hung up. "MA-YAA. THIS IS A DISASTER!" Riley whined as she marched in. "What?" Maya laughed. "I have nothing to wear!" She exclaimed. She grabbed Riley and their purses. "Where are we going?" Riley asked. "Shopping!" Maya shouted. The girls drove to the mall. After 1 and a half hours, the girls had found the perfect outfits.

They went home and finished getting ready. A couple hours later, they drove to the restaurant.
