Start all over again (SasuxFemNaru)

Part 21

Sasuke's POV

I quickly bought medicine from the Pharmacy when I returned to Naruko's apartment; I took a glass of water and made my way to her bedroom. She was sleeping with her cheeks burning up, and breathing heavily. I sat by her side in bed and gently woke her up,

"Naruko... wake up..." I said in a whisper load enough for her to hear as I gently rocked her,

She moaned as she slowly open her blue eyes. She looked at me and slowly got up with my assistance.

"Drink this..." I told her as I gave her the medicine, she drank it slowly and lay back to bed,

"Sasu..ke... tha...nk... you..." she said as she looked directly into my eyes, just the sensation that she was there made me feel like I had to say something... like I had to tell her how I feel...

"Naruko... I–" I was cut off by two hands covering my mouth,

"Sasuke... please... Don't... Don't make things a lot more complicated... stop stirring my feelings... We can't... " she said as she kept her hands on my mouth with her head facing down, her bangs covering her eyes and her cheeks red from the fever or the situation. I grabbed both of her hands and put up a stern face, I was eager to do something about what I feel. She looked up and faced me, her eyes were forming tears that were about to fall any minute...

I kissed her hand, right and left, each time glancing at her, and let them go. I placed both my hands on her cheeks, caressing her face and wiping her tears. "Naruko... I love you... and I love only you..." I said as I lean in until our lips met.

When I finally departed from the kiss, Naruko looked down again. She suddenly starts to wipe her eyes and grit her teeth. I touched her chin and made her look up; her face was conveying so much pain. She looks me in the eye and her tears started to fall unstop.

"Sasuke... we can't... what we had been over years ago... when I left..." she said, as her eyes continue to pour,

"Even though it seemed that way... not once have I thought it was over... even if I was with Sakura... all I could think of was you... I never really moved on from you..." I said as held her face,

"But you are engaged with Sakura... you already took her hand... I can't do this to her twice... Sakura is my best friend... Sasuke... please..." she said as she held on my hand,

I leaned close to her. My face just beside hers, "Naruko...Do you love me?" I asked, I couldn't take it to see her face if she says no.

"Sasuke... always..." she said, my eyes widen. I held on her shoulders and faced her; unsure of whether I heard was right,

"What?" I asked as I looked at her directly this time,

"I love you, Sasuke... and that never changed through all those years... but–" I cut her off, trying to stop whatever reason she has in store,

"Then, once in a while... please... be selfish and take want you want... cause I always have been selfish and I want you to want me back," I asked with determination and plead in each word,

"Sakura–"

"Don't think about them... about anyone at all... Just think about us... About Chisuke... About everything we can be and we would have been," I said, "I know Sakura... She knows the both of us... She'll understand..." I added,

"Sasuke... I love you..." she answered as she hugged me,

"I love you too... Naruko..." I said.

The next morning, Naruko fully recovered. I went ahead and told Iruka about her recovery and expect for Chisuke to return home in the afternoon. I made breakfast and ate with Naruko. Both of us cleaned the apartment and spend time together while we had before Chisuke arrive. It was like I've been to a time-traveling machine or a wonderful dream, everything seemed unreal. Here we are again, together, laughing, smiling and making new memories. The time sure fly too fast that we didn't even notice it was already 3pm. I heard a knock on the door and I went to answer it, when I opened it I was greeted with a face of my beloved daughter,

"Sasuke-san! Good afternoon!" she said, I lifted her and carried her in my arm,

"Yup... She is..." I said, "Naruko, Chisuke is here..." I called out,

"Ahh!! Chisuke I missed you!!" she said as she quickly approached her daughter taking her away from me,

"Miss you too, Mama..." Chisuke answered,

"Chisuke? Who brought you here?" Naruko asked,

"Papa Gaara did!" Chisuke answered,

I went outside and saw him downstairs,"Oi, Gaara... Aren't you even going to ask Naruko how she is doing?" I asked. Naruko then came outside to look. I could see Gaara looking back at her,

"There's no need... She in the arms of someone she loves now..." he said, which earned a blush from Naruko,

"Hey, Sasuke!" he called out,

"What?" I asked,

"Hurt her again... and that would be the last time you see her... got that?" he said,

"Who said I was going to hurt her? I will simply make her happy," I answered, and Gaara then turned around and left.
