Who invented cookies and cream ice cream? Because all I know is, it's the best kind of ice cream there is.

I stuffed another spoonful into my mouth, letting the deliciousness take over.

"Slow down, or you'll choke." Beth laughed.

"I don't care. Plus the ice cream will eventually melt, so therefore I will not choke on it. Leave me alone."

She just stared at me. I bet you she's thinking 'why am I friends with her again?'

I stood up, and walked to the trash can to throw away my now empty bowl. I sat back down at our table, waiting for Beth to finish hers.

"This past weekend was fun." She said.

"I have to agree."

"Especially the part with you and Mason kissing." She laughed.

"Oh shut up Beth." I rolled my eyes at her.

"You know, if you and Ryder weren't together, you two would be cute honestly." Beth said adding her last bite of ice cream into her mouth.

"That's gross." I commented.

"How so?"

"First you explain how me and him would be cute." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Well first off, the way you two look at each other, you can tell there is something going on there. I'm not sure what, but something is. Also Mason is a protective guy, and he protects you. He watches over you. He never lets anything bad happen to you-"

"Yeah well Ruder does that too."

"But not like Mason does, Casey. Mason actually tries an effort. He tries to make conversation with you. He wants to hang out with you. You two have kissed already for crying out loud, and even if you didn't like it, everyone could tell y'all did. He jumped off the bridge with you into the cold water. That takes real guts to do it. And Mason is different from Ryder. He may be best fiends with him, and have some of the same qualities. But he's sweet, nice, innocent, and just a big teddy bear. I don't see how you don't see it Casey. Mason really likes you."

I sighed. I know all these things are true, but Ryder is equally the same. He is kind, and sweet, and he protects me. He's been there for me since day one, even before I met Mason. Mason is just one of my close friends, and I'm sticking with that.

"I'm sorry Beth. But-" I was cut off by my phone going off with the text signal.

"Ryder<3: Hey Casey... I hope you are fine, and safe. Thank you for such a fun and amazing weekend, I really enjoyed it. I'm sorry about the Chloe thing, and I really regret it. I wish I didn't kiss her because I know that hurt you. But thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for giving me a chance. Thank you for loving me when I felt like no one else could. Thank you for being the sweet little you, and thank you for not giving up on me when you had many opportunities to do so. Thank you for everything Casey.. But I'm sorry to say this, and I know this is going to hurt me more than it will ever hurt you. I wish I didn't have to do this, but I have to. And I'm sorry. I won't stop thinking of you, and I'll never stop loving you. But we can't see each other anymore. This is the end of us. Goodbye Casey. You won't be seeing me for a long, long time.

I dropped my phone onto the table, and my mouth fell open. No tears fell, because I'm still trying to comprehend what just happened.

Beth picked up my phone, which I'm guessing she is reading the text what Ryder just sent me.

But why would he say he loves me, and he'll never stop thinking of me, when he just broke up with me? Shouldn't you do the opposite. When you break up with someone your suppose to forget about them. Not think about them. Not text them. Not anything with them. But here he goes saying all that thank you stuff, and then wala, we are done?

Beth placed my phone back down onto the table and just stared at me.

"You okay?" He asked reaching her hand out, grabbing mine.

"Yeah." I whispered. "Just confused."

"I agree Casey. I don't understand what happened with Ryder. Or why he did that. But I think I should go ahead and take you home, so you can think about it, or if you just want to be alone."

I stood up, picked up my phone, and walked out the diner to Beth's car. I opened the door, got in, and buckled up. Beth did the same thing, then roared her car to life.

The drive home ended up being quite, with the exception of the radio turn down low. I stared out the window and watched the trees zoom by, and closed my eyes.

I opened my notebook up, turning to the next clean page. I picked up my mechanical Pencil, and started to copy the notes down for Math. I copied the notes of how to solve the problem, then the couple example problems too. After I finished those, I laid my head on the desk, closing my eyes.

I woke up to something poking me. I lifted my head to see my teacher standing there staring at me, with a unproved look on her face.

"What did I tell you about sleeping in my class Casey?"

"I'm sorry."

"Detention." She handed me a pink and yellow slip of paper, with everything filled out on it. Great. This is what I get for breaking a rule. Well I'm sorry I didn't get no sleep last night because my mind was preoccupied by my now ex boyfriend.

The bell rung, and I watched as all my other classmates packed in a hurry, while I just sat there at my desk staring at the board in front on me. People walked passed, laughing, which I'm guessing they are laughing at me.

Once everyone left, I started to slowly put my things away.

"Casey come here." Mrs. Little said.

I picked up my bag, and walked to her desk. By now, the other students for her next class started to fill into the room, sitting at their desks.

"Are you sure your okay? I've never seen you so out of it before."

"Yeah I'm fine." I said while still looking at the ground."

"Look up at me." I did as told. "Your never like this Casey. You never fall asleep. You always like to participate in class. There is something going on, and you know you can talk to me."

"I'd rather not. It's personal stuff." I mumbled.

"Alright. Well hold on I'll write you a. Pass so you don't be late. But if you need someone just come talk to me." She smiled, then handed me a sticky note that had the time, and my teachers name on it. This is what kind of pass we get.

I turned to the left out of the room, just to bump right into somebody.

"Well hello there." I looked up from this persons chest to see his face. A smiling face at that.
