Founding of NASCAR part 1

March 8th, 1936, a crowd of drivers come together at Daytona Beach, Florida. The motorists take along coupes, hardtops, convertibles, and sports cars to take part in an event to determine which cars is the fastest and the top driver. During the race, the bigger cars got wiped out in the tan (sand), while the lightweight Fords maneuvers through the ruts of the course, finally claiming the first top 6 finishes in the race. Out of the 27 that began the episode, 10 drove through the ordeal, as officials stopped the race 10 miles short of the expected 250 miles. Motorist Milt Marion was the winner of the event, and youthful Bill France came home 5th at the end of the race.
