At the conclusion of the 1947 season, France declared that there would a sequence of conventions that will be held at the Streamline Hotel located in Florida, they would begin on December 14, 1947 at 1:00 pm on the dot, Bill called to order the 35 mean who were represented by the NCSCC, the conventions would be located on the top floor of the Streamline hotel. The conventions was the first of four meetings in which Bill would rundown his view of a formed group of race car drivers. The name originally chosen for the series was National Stock Car Racing Association; when it was revealed that the name was already taken by a rival sanctioning body. "National Association for Stock Car Racing" was said by mechanic Red Vogt, which then was the chosen name for the organization's name.
