I actually got pissed writing this because I made him so mean. I WAS READY TO FITE HIM, LOL.

"You're so dumb, honestly."

You winced at the harsh words that were thrown at you. Your head was down and you looked up through your lashes only to see the back of Kaneki walking toward the bedroom. You've lost count of how many harsh things he's said to you in the same day already.

Sighing sadly, you walk toward the couch and wrap yourself in the small blanket before you laid down, trying to have a good night sleep. It wasn't very good at all. There was really no good reason you were still with him. He's a jerk, a very big jerk.

The only reason why you're still with him is because of Haise.

Haise was the love of your life. The sweetest thing imaginable in the whole world. The best thing that had happened to you. But one day, you came home to find this man in your house, a man who wasn't Haise despite the similarities.

You thought that if you stuck with this man, a part of Haise would show. A sweet side of him would show. But in these three months you've been with him, Haise hasn't shown yet.

To your surprise, he hasn't said anything about breaking up yet. Even if he made really mean remarks about the relationship, he hasn't said those heart wrenching words; "I wanna break up", "Let's end this", "I'm breaking up with you".

So, you've always had hope in this relationship.

"Good morning~ I've made you fresh coffee on the table." You state as you give him a genuine smile, hoping for a sweet reply back, or at least a thanks.

"I've had better," He responded as he set his cup down. "Touka makes some great coffee." You pursed your lips.

'Ah, there it is again. His small remarks about Touka, she really is perfect isn't she..'

"Let me get you your coat." Walking toward the bedroom, you gently grabbed his black coat and handed it to him in the kitchen only to have you pushed back as he grabbed the coat. "I don't need your help getting it."

"I-I'm sorry. Have a good day at work then." You tried saying hoping to ease the tension. He shot you a look before rolling his eyes. You watched as he ignored you and shut the door on his way out. Tears filled your eyes but you knew better than to cry your problems away.

Most days, it's the small things.

"I'm going out." Kaneki would simply say as he walked toward the door. Your eyes glowed as you stood up walking toward him. "I'll join you!"

"Ugh, you're so clingy. Give me a break already." Backing up, your eyes slightly widened as you smiled sadly, nodding. "S-sure.."

You didn't see him that night.

But some days, it's even worse.

"I can't stand you! Can't you do anything right?!" Kaneki yelled as he paced the room. "K-Kaneki, I'm sorry. Please calm down." But that was a mistake. The front of his hand comes swinging at you as a loud slapping sound echos in the room.

Your face turned to the side with a red mark slowly forming on your face. "You're the reason why I can't calm down. I'm always babysitting your ass when I could be doing better things. I'd be much happier with Touka than trash like you."

You look up at him, tears running down your face. Haise's soft grey eyes were no longer there. Now they were grey eyes filled with hatred for you. But, all you've been doing was love him.

"I-I don't understand.." You said softly as you bring your hand up to your cheek. "All I've done was love you." He looked at you with a small disgusted look, but he wasn't breaking the eye contact. "I just wanted you to love me back..."

"I don't need your love." Piece by piece, your heart was breaking. There was a thing string of hope you were hanging to, a string that was about to snap any second now. "I don't need you."

SNAP

The string of hope you were holding onto snapped. You looked at him with lifeless eyes as you stood up and left the room. What were you doing all these months with somebody like him? What were you thinking, trying to have a better relationship with him?

You walked out the door and into the midnight streets of Tokyo, wherever your feet would take you.

Kaneki was sitting on a chair at :Re, drinking the 'oh so amazing' coffee made by the lovely Touka. He drank his coffee as he looked at the news on the television, nothing was important. Nothing until he slightly heard a name that sounded like yours.

"22 year old (L/N) (F/N) found dead in an alleyway of the 20th ward. The cause of her death is still unknown but authorities and detectives are reporting the death as a suicide as they found a small knife in her hands and a large cut on her throat."

The amazing coffee didn't seem so amazing to him anymore. The hideous world seemed even worse to him. How did one person that didn't mean a thing to him, was able to affect him this much with their death?

Touka didn't seem so lovely now that they were gone.

Nothing meant anything to him anymore.

That's when he realizes, all of this was his fault.

All those harsh words, all those mean comments, all those terrible remarks were the reason why they no longer lived on the Earth. He held up his hand as he studied it, his large hand slowly shaking.

All those times he hit her with this hand when all she wanted to do was show him love. How selfish could he be?

He held his head as he squeezed his eyes shut, her sweet words haunting him.

"I love you."

"Have a good day."

"I hope you enjoy this coffee."

And those two words that never deserved to leave her mouth.

"I'm sorry."

Sorry? Sorry for what? You didn't do a single thing wrong. Kaneki felt a huge weight of guilt on his shoulders. The cause of your death, was all because of him. Maybe if he showed a little love, a little appreciation, you would still be alive with him.

Nothing could take away the guilt he felt. Nothing was going to bring you back. All he can do now is live a miserable life knowing he was the one who brought you to death.
