THE OPPOSITION OF SCIENCE

when I pull you close,

our hearts halt to synchronize in beats,

and the swirling galaxies in our eyes speed to grab onto one another's arms.

the rough padding of your thumbs smooth the wayward wrinkles of my skin,

and your smiles make my bones titter a violent quake.

when we touch:

lightning strikes skyscrapers in colossal cities,

paper hearts heal in amounting numbers,

and our breaths mingle creating static shocks.

when you look at me,

apples fall upwards,

and time travels backwards,

our secrets oppose those of physics,

and our love creates laws of life.
