For the rest of the day, no words were spoken between the two boys at the music shop. The thick silence hung in the air making it more uncomfortable and awkward every second that ticked by. With nothing to do in the small shop and no customers, Louis and Liam shuffled around the shop, avoiding eye contact with one another.
Louis was in the back of the shop, trying to hide his guilt and shame from Liam. From where the two lads were standing, Louis and Liam were completely out of each other's line of vision.
When Liam noticed there was five more minutes until closing time, he quietly walked over the the storage room to put away his name tag and grab his jacket. He left the light off, as he would only be in the room for a minute, and quietly started to gather his things.
Liam was still worried about his and Louis' friendship. He knows that his best mate isn't one to get mad easily, but when he does, he is very stubborn. All the brown-eyed boy wants, is for the smaller lad to forgive him.
Meanwhile, Louis glanced at the clock on the wall, noticing the time. Quickly, he walked into the back room, not noticing the other boy in there. Angrily, he slammed the door, leaving himself in the dark.
"Fuck, why am I so stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Pathetic, stupid, loser," Louis muttered to himself. He leaned his forehead against the cold door, his arms perched above his head.
Louis was very upset at himself for acting the way he did, especially to his best friend. He bloody punched him, and that caused him to feel a great amount of guilt. Sure he was mad at the time, but he took it way too far. But of course, Louis was way too stubborn to admit that to Liam.
Louis continued whispering insults to himself, not knowing that Liam was in the room with him, and that he heard everything that was said.
Liam couldn't stand hearing Louis talk horribly about himself, even if he was acting rude towards him. But without another thought, Liam reached for the cord that hung in the middle of the room and gave it a tug, turning on the dim light.
Louis noticed the light change and spun around so fast, he almost got whiplash. When he noticed Liam, his eyes widened and he back up so his back was against the door.
"Lou," Liam whispered, walking towards the frightened lad.
"No. No, no," Louis said, panic evident in his voice. His small hands fumbled with the door handle, but the door wouldn't push open, leaving Louis stuck in a small room with the lad who hated Louis, or so he thought.
"Looking for this?" Liam asked, holding up a silver key from his pocket, a knowing smirk on his face. Louis paled visibly, before lunging for the key.
Liam pulled away at the last second, sending Louis flying into the wall, thankfully not very hard. The smaller boy went for the key again, this time knocking Liam to the floor. Louis was straddling Liam's stomach, but Liam was much stronger and was able to flip Louis to the floor instead.
"We need to talk," Liam said sternly, as he settled himself down on top of his friend's stomach. He stuffed the key in his pocket before grabbing Louis' wrists, to try and stop him from squirming and getting away.
"Liam, please, I don't want to," Louis pleaded.
"No, I can't go around having you hate me anymore. Louis, we've basically been to hell and back with each other, you're my best friend. I'd hate to lose you over-" Liam paused mid sentence when he heard sniffling. He look down at the boy below him, who had a few tears running down his face.
