"What are you doing here?" Harry asked Niall as the blonde lad walked up to him, a tray of food in hand. Not that he wasn't happy to see his friend, it was just that Niall didn't have third period lunch.

"I switched my classes around," Niall said with a grin.

"Why?"

Harry was half relieved and half worried. He had no friends to eat with these past few months, and if Niall now had the same lunch period as him, Harry would no longer be alone. But that also meant that Niall would become a witness to the bullying he received from the one and only Zayn Malik.

"I didn't want to take visual arts, so I asked my guidance counselor to switch some things around. Lucky that I got stuck with you, ey?" Niall joked.

Niall wasn't going to let Harry find out the real reason he switched courses; to protect him from Zayn. Both boys were so caring and considerate to one another, as they always wanted to protect the other. In this case, Niall wanted Harry to be safe from the bully that was ruining his life at school.

Harry led Niall to his usual cafeteria table, far in the back of the huge room. All the tables in a 20 feet radius where empty, since most students prefered to be in a noisier environment. Harry, on the other hand, enjoyed the peace that he got when he was eating alone, and being as far away from Zayn as possible.

The boys sat down, across the table from one another, and put their trays on the table. Harry smiled to himself at the thought of actually having someone to eat with him.

"That's great Niall, I'm glad you're here," Harry admitted.

"So am I mate," Niall said, as he reached for some crisps off of Harry's plate.

"Eat your own food," Harry complained, smacking the pale hand away.

Niall let out a whine of protest, but went silent when his phone rang. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Harry was with him, his parents and brother wouldn't call during school. Who could it be then?

He rushed to grab his phone, smiling brightly when he saw 'LiLi' pop up. He quickly slid his finger over the iPhone to answer the call, before pressing it to his ear.

"LiLi!" Niall exclaimed loudly, causing Harry to give him a confused look, one eyebrow raised, and his lips pressed together.

"I mean, what's up?" Niall said, a blush forming on his cheeks.

"I need some help," Liam said in a hushed tone.

"Yea, of course mate." Niall's tone immediately turned from happiness to worry. Why was Liam whispering? And what did he need Niall's help for?

"Long story short, my friend, Louis, is feeling a bit upset today. He, uh, looks like he got beaten up, but he won't tell me what happened," Liam said, his voice wavering slightly.

"Oh my god, y-" Niall was cut off by Liam.

"Anyways, I need some ways of cheering him up."

"Uh, maybe you can try giving him a tub of ice cream," Niall said, remembering when Harry had done the same for him earlier in the week.

"I would, but we have work after school," Liam replied sadly.

"We?" Niall couldn't help the small bubble of jealously that rose within him.
