Connor and his men have been searching for day's for his little brother, yet they still didn't have a clear sign on which way he went or if he had been taken against his will. Connor knew his men were tired from their constant running, searching and the lack of food, but Connor wasn't ready nor would he ever be ready to give up. He continued to push his men. He knew they had to be miles from their territory, and it made him worry all the more.

"Where are you Joey?" Connor asked to no one specifically as he looked ahead. His brother's scent lead them further and further away from home and more into no man's land. If a rogue who'd gotten close to their territory found him, got a good sniff of him they'd know he was the Alpha's brother. They'd either kill him on the spot, or they'd torture him and use him to get to Connor. The thought's were unthinkable, but Connor didn't put it past a rogue to torture a child.

Connor looked to his left when a hand clamped down on his shoulder, seeing Jake's grim expression made him immediately turn away. "We aren't stopping.." Connor's voice had gone cold.

Jake shook his head, "I'm not saying we should. Your brother is much like my own, we'll find him Connor." Connor could sense a but, and wasn't disappointed. "But, the men have followed Joey's scent. They've just told me that rogues are in the area."

Connor stiffened to the news, "we move forward. Only attack if they attack first. Our main concern is to find my brother and return him home." Connor ordered, "tell the others." He moved away from Jake and continued forward, more determined than ever.  He hadn't needed to be told about the rogues in the area, he'd already scented them. But, it didn't make a difference to him. He would find his brother, and he would return him to where he belonged.

"Connor over here!" Jake yelled in the distance. He rushed over, hoping to find anything, but when he stopped and looked to where Jake was pointing, he seen a pile of clothes. Clothes he'd seen his brother wearing the day he'd gone missing. He picked them up, and held them under his nose.

"I don't smell blood. He must have shifted." Connor said on a relieved sigh. "He's still new to his wolf form, he couldn't have gone too far. Search the area!" Connor ordered, moving forward as he followed Joey's scent.

Cadence was proud of herself, and knew that Joey would be pleased as well for her catch. It wasn't enough to feed them both, but Cadence's body could deal without for now. She'd feed Joey first.

Cadence was prancing back to the stream, when she suddenly heard Joey call out to her. Normally she wouldn't have worried, but the fear and high pitch of his voice suggested he was in trouble. Cadence dropped the rabbit she'd caught and ran full force to the stream. She skidded to a stop as she seen two wolves circling Joey. The poor pup was shaking with fear, and something inside her snapped. Her rage soared, along with every protective instinct in her.

She charged forward and without warning bit into the first wolves neck, turning herself so that she was between him and Joey. The wolf had yelped in surprise that soon turned to yelps of pain, but Cadence didn't let go. She tugged, and tightened her jaw. The metallic smell of blood filled her nose, and her mouth, but she continued to tug until the wolf went limp between her jaws. Only when Joey yelped did Cadence release him and turned to see that the other wolf had swiped Joey with his paw.

Cadence growled loudly, and charged at the other wolf. Both of them snapping their teeth, and biting anywhere they could reach. Cadence knew that this was going to be a battle, and while she had confidence in her skills, this wolf was much bigger and stronger than she was. When the wolf backed off, and paced back and forth, Cadence backed up and felt Joey rub against her hind legs. She feared Joey would die if she fell, and that left her with one choice.

"Joey, listen to me. Follow the stream and run. Don't turn back, and don't stop. I'll find you later." Cadence's voice was low, and stern. She could feel Joey's hesitation and growled, "Joey go! Go now!" And then she charged the wolf again, she could at least distract him enough that she hoped he wouldn't see where Joey disappeared too.
