*Jack POV*

My alarm clocked wouldn't shut up, it just kept going off. Staying up all night playing video games with Felix had sounded like such a good idea.. unil now.

"Fy jälvar!" Flex groaned as he got up and slammed the snooze button. Lazily I opened my eyes only to see him getting back into bed.

"Come on, we are gonna be late," I said but didn't make any really efforts to move. After a few more failed attempts Felix and I finally got our uniforms on and headed to first period.

"Walking up late I see," Matthias said as he looked at Felix and I. Honestly he was most likely refereeing to my messy hair, but I was too tired to care.

"Always!" Felix said somehow gaining energy. We made our way to first period, the demon students were always headed the same way. Our first two morning classes were mixed, so it was unavoidable.

"Hey I heard we are getting a new student," Matthias said as he fixed his tie. I raised an eyebrow.

"We get new students?" I asked confused. It was very rare we got new students who weren't freshmen. Unless they had been going to a strict only angel or demon school like I had.

"I know weird right? I heard he's a demon too," he said getting too excited about the gossip.

"Well if that's true why do we care?" Felix said crossing his arms. Felix has always been very headstrong about not caring about demons, the only reason he was at this school was because his father is part of the council. Even though I know some of the demons play video games and we have the same likes, Felix would put up a fight about how we need to be separate. Sighing I ignored the awkward tension and continued to class.

"Honestly we just live in this classroom," Felix complained, first and second period were held in the same class room with Mr. Matpat.

"Only for two classes, jeez man calm your tits," I said sighing. First period had already ended so it was time for second, but we were all just chatting as the teacher prepared for the next lesson. Suddenly the door opened and a guy came walking in, he wore the demons uniform and had bright red hair. Honestly he look terrified.

"You must be the new student," Mr. Matpat said as the room had gone almost completely silent. I couldn't help but keep staring at him. Everyone else was most likely just as curious as I was.

"Class we have a new student, why don't you introduce yourself?" The teacher asked, which made the guy shift uncomfortable as if he was trying to find a way to say his name.

"Hi.. my name is Mark," he finally managed to say and wow... his voice had a deep ring to it that sounded amazing. My eyes were completely focused on him. Then as he scanned the room his eyes locked with mine, they were a dark chocolate color. His eyes widened and he looked to the teacher for help.

"Go ahead Mark, go sit by Bob," he said which made Mark relax a bit. I could feel Felix stewing about the attention Mark was getting. But honestly he looked like a decent guy, also I now wasn't the only one with dyed hair. Although I know that the lesson was going, I just couldn't pull my eyes away from him. He seemed really focused on the lesson and even smiled sometimes. Suddenly he released I had been staring, I had been caught. My eyes widened and I quickly turned my attention back to the lesson at hand. No doubt my cheeks were red... how embarrassing.

"Off to flying lessons!" Felix said almost sprinting out of the classroom, the next class was his favorite. The demon students were already gone when I finally decided to get up. Unfortunately I had a weird fear of heights... which was not good when they pretty much forced you to fly.

"Weird, I didn't even know he really taught people!" I heard Phil's voice from behind me. Turning around, there he was chatting away with Dan. They spotted me and smiled.

"Hey guys!" I said excitedly, Dan and Phil usually kept to each other but I was one of their few friends. It just now dawned on me that they both weren't in first or second period.

"Phil forgot to set the alarm before you ask," Dan said holding up his hands in a defensive: wasn't my fault.

"However we did just get some new gossip!" Phil jumped up and down excitedly. They were just as bad as Matthias when it came to this. But it had peaked my interest.

"Which would be?" I asked seeing as neither had made a move to spill the information. Phil looked up a Dan for approval and Dan just nodded.

"We heard we got a new student that's a demon, well we also just saw him with Mr. DeFranco!" His voice almost cracked from excitement and I could see Dan trying not to burst out laughing.

"Mr. DeFranco? He teaches students?! I thought he retired that." I couldn't help but be confused... Mr. DeFranco us to be a demon teacher until he became a member of the board and even before then he was known to only teach rare students. Now the newbie was really peaking my interest.
