❝Don't you ever sleep?❞ Sage asked, not at all surprised to see Vera sitting cross-legged on the top of their apartment building for the fifth day in a row. Just as the question left his lips, a yawn escaped her mouth as she looked over at him.
❝Why aren't you asleep?❞
❝Why aren't you?❞
❝... Too much noise, ❞ she whispered and immediately
wanted to take the words right back. She quickly broke his stare.
Sage silently walked over and sat down in the open space next to her. They sat in silence for a while. ❝... I love noise.❞
She laughed. ❝That's not what I meant, Sage.❞
❝I know.❞
She dropped her head on his shoulder.
❝...❞
❝... Just accept it.❞
❝... I'm not saying anything?❞
❝... Meaning you like it?❞
❝... I never said that?❞
❝You never disagreed?❞

She moved closer to him.
