Michael's POV

I hated hurting her. Watching her fall to the ground and start to sob really broke my heart. It wasn't going to keep her, treating her this way. I had to find a way to make it up to her. A way to apologize to keep her from hating me completely.

After I left the room, she went into hers and shut the door, locking it to keep the monster from entering. She'd been locked away for nearly three hours.

What's something she enjoys? Tea? Yes. She loves her tea. Music, movies, poetry. Any of these things could lure her back to my arms but I had to choose wisely.

I remembered there was a ukulele downstairs that I could use. Once I picked it up, I thought of the perfect song to sing. It was her favorite.

Unchained Melody.

The only way I knew this was her favorite is because she sang this song at a school talent show. She mentioned this after the show.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Fassbender. I know you probably had better things to do than to bring me out here." She said to me, her red dress bounced as we made our way to the car.

She and Beck walked in front of me while I carried Tia's trophy to the car. She'd won the contest, beating twenty other talents that were shown. Beck and I were extremely proud of her.

"That's fine, Tia. Don't worry about it," I replied. "You're like family so I'm happy to help. I understand your dad has an extremely busy schedule. I'll kick his arse for you next year if he doesn't come, yeah?"

She looked back at me and giggled at the wink I shot her. "Thanks, Fassbender."

While the girls got in the car, I put the trophy in the back of the car so it wasn't in the way of anyone's seating. Afterwards, I got into the car, seeing Tia was in the passenger seat. Usually they both sat in the back to keep from arguing. This time Becky took one for the team.

"Things have changed," I said, looking between the both of them.

"Well, T did such a good job, I'll let her sit in the front like the queen she is tonight." Becky laughed and nudged Tia's shoulder as Tia pretended to flip her hair.

"Thank you, thank you," she giggled.

As I started the car, I began to get curious. She's such a young girl to pick a song that was released decades before she was even born.

"Why did you choose to sing the uh Righteous Brothers song? And how the hell do you know it?" I'd asked her.

She shrugged, fastening her seatbelt. "It's my mother's favorite and this was my first time performing in front of a large group of people so I decided to sing it like a tribute, I guess."

Becky scoffed from the back. "Are you sure it's not your favorite too? You play it every time you get in your feelings, Tia. I swear you do."

"Maybe it has become a favorite! So what?" Tia looked back at her then at me. "Music back then was lit. You should remember, Mr. Fassbender."

The car filled with laughter and loud "OHHHHHH"'s.

I laughed hard and shook my head. "Right. I got you next time, Miss talent show. Sleep with one eye open!"

That was the perfect way to bring her back to my arms. Perfect.
