You were sitting in your bedroom, trying not to fall asleep, after you had had a long day of work. Suddenly, there was a knock on your window, and you moved to grab a weapon. When you turned, you recognized your good friend, Floyd, standing outside of your window.
You sighed in relief before you walked over to your window. You wanted to tease Floyd, so you thought about whether you should open the window or not. Floyd rolled his eyes, but you giggled before you opened your window.Floyd jumped in and bowed saying,"Mrs. L/N, don't look so happy to see me."
You smiled and bowed back before Floyd looked at you for a minute.
You looked right back at him confused, and he said,"What's going on with you? What happened at work?"
Floyd read your mind since you weren't in the mood to talk about it. Floyd cornered you, and you couldn't get out of his hold. You knew he was not letting go any time soon. You sighed, knowing you had to tell him now or he would never let you go.
You explained to him,"One of my best friends, well I thought she was my best friend, told me that she couldn't be my friend anymore. Apparently, I'm not good enough and I shouldn't have taken what wasn't mine in the first place. I know she's talking about you, Floyd."
Tears formed in your eyes before Floyd cupped your face saying,"Darling, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Any guy who gets you will be the most blessed man out there. He better treat you right because I'll check in to make sure he does. I better get going before Flag has a tantrum. I love you, Y/N."
It wasn't what you thought it meant because you two always said it to each other. This time it felt different. You were disappointed it didn't mean more?
You shook it off and smiled saying,"Love you, too, Floyd."
Floyd sent you a wink, yet he decided to take your window instead of your front door. You understood why because it was closer. Floyd would surely give your mom another heart attack. You laughed at the thought before you thought hard about why this time felt so different when you said it.
When you realized why, everything started to make sense. You wanted Floyd to be that guy that could be there for you, no matter if he ever saw you the same way one day.° Captain Boomerang °
Digger was really getting on your nerves, as you tried to figure out a solution to your problem from your boss. Your boss trusted you more than anyone else at your current job, but you couldn't quite figure out why he chose you out of the others that he knew for years at your job.
You pushed Digger over the couch and made sure he stayed there.
Digger pouted and tackled you, then you sighed saying,"Harkness, will you please stop? I'm trying to figure something out."
Digger nodded, but you could see the hurt in his eyes after your words came out a little too harshly.
You frowned and said,"I'm sorry, Dig. I didn't mean to. Forgive me?"
Digger smiled and sat back up before he kissed your forehead and said,"I can't stay mad at ya, darlin. Of course, I will! You need to take a break. We're watching a movie."
You went to argue, but Digger pulled you away from your work and pulled you to the couch. He put in Pirates of the Caribbean: World's End, and you smiled immediately. You loved any type of movie; especially, if it was Disney.
When the movie started, Digger pulled you into his lap and you didn't realize how close the two of you really were. He had his arms wrapped around you, but you tried not to blush and admit how safe it made you feel.
