The First Loss

*Chapter 4*

"Jeremy, why are we in the mountain sector?" Odd questioned.


"X.A.N.A. has some pretty tough viruses. You'll have to go through the way tower in each sector

to the sphere's landing area in the arctic sector."


"Great, it's not like we have all the time in the world," Odd joked.


"Really? Not funny. What if X.A.N.A. turns Kiwi into a Krankrelot?" Ulrich smirked. Odd gave

Ulrich a death look.


"Let's go. There are no monsters around,"Aelita said as she ran towards the tower. The tower

was unguarded. Everyone entered except William, who saw the energy sphere of Mr. Hopper.


~William POV~


"Hello, Mr. Hopper. X.A.N.A. is up to no good again. WAIT! What are you..."


~No POV~


"Where's William? He was right behind me," Yumi said nervously. Everyone walked out of the

tower to see an energy sphere with an electric arm holding William off the ground. Under him, the

ground was covered in a dark, black fog.


"Why is Mr. Hopper doing that?" Jeremy asked.


"It's not my dad. That's X.A.N.A." The dark fog under William and the sphere glowed with

X.A.N.A.'s symbol. The electric arm evaporated and William fell and disappeared into the fog. The

energy sphere flew into the darkness and the fog disappeared.


"William and the sphere are not on the monitor anymore," Jeremy sighed.


"We have to keep moving. When we return to the past, William will come back, not

X.A.N.A.fied," Aelita explained, walking into the tower with the perplexed Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd.

"We have to be careful not to be pulled into that fog. We still have to make it through four more

sectors to deactivate Sector 5."
