*Chapter 10*

"We have to be really far away. We'll never make it fast on foot," Aelita declared. "Jeremy, if you

can hear me, please help us get to the sphere's landing area faster." And in front of the two the

Overwing appeared. Aelita got on first, Yumi second. They sped off towards the sphere.


"We are almost there and not a sign of any monsters or shadow warriors," Aelita said cheerfully.

She spoke to soon. Out popped five Krabs, ten Krankrelots, three Bloks, and three Hornets along

with shadow Odd, William, and Ulrich. They were closing the distance between them and Aelita

and Yumi fast.


"Aelita, I'll take the monsters. You'll go faster on your own. I'll be close to the area and can run

over when the sphere comes. You'll see me the whole time. But if I don't make it, you need to save

everyone. It'll be up to you. Good luck," Yumi happily said.


"But wai..." Before Aelita could finish, Yumi backflipped off the vehicle. Aelita didn't turn

around. She kept going, knowing Yumi could hold her own.


~Yumi POV~


Within but minutes, I destroyed all the Krabs, Bloks, and Krankrelots. The Hornets flew for

Aelita. She should be able to hold them off. Now for Odd and William. I used my powers and

caused a shard of ice on the ground to fly over and knock Odd and William off the edge.


"That was easy," I thought. Now for... I shuddered.


I turned to see Ulrich in front of me and Aelita hiding behind some ice with Hornets shooting at

her.


I couldn't fight him. I wouldn't fight him. I saw Odd stop from shooting me so maybe I could do

the same for Ulrich.


"Ulrich, it's me! Yumi. Listen to me. Don't attack. I won't. I love you! Please!"


Shadow Ulrich was right in my face. He didn't attack. He just stood there.


"Ulrich, is that you?"


I reached in and kissed where I thought his lips were. Then it hit me. So very hard and painful. I

looked down. A saber was in my chest. He slowly and painfully pulled it out. I fell onto one knee. I

looked behind me and saw a pool of fog forming. I gasped for air. I could hear Aelita saying, "No

Yumi," and, "Don't leave me!"


The shadow Ulrich turned towards Aelita and started to walk away. I couldn't do nothing. With

my remaining energy, I threw a fan and destroyed all three Hornets. I then lunged for Ulrich,

holding him. "Go Aelita! You're on your own!" I pulled back and both me and shadow Ulrich fell

into the fog.


~Aelita POV~


"No Yumi!" I yelled, watching Yumi and shadow Ulrich fall into the fog. The fog disappeared. I

saw the sphere coming. I ran over and took one last glance at the arctic sector.
