Stranded

He had a tour to promote his new album and was supposed to be back in Manila by night. They have planned to watch the launch of their new show at her house the following day, but that had to change as he got stranded because of the typhoon.

An hour before their airtime, he called her.

"Moe?"

"Hi Baby. Nagdinner ka na?"

"Ang aga pa, love. Hahaha. Maybe later, after our show."

"I'm really sorry, I can't be there."

"Ok lang. Ang importante safe ka. How are you?"

"Ok naman. Ok naman kami dito. I just really miss you.."

"Awww. Kelan na ba balik mo?"

"Hopefully later tonight or bukas ng umaga."

"I see. Anyway, I'm really excited to see ourselves again on TV tonight. Sayang lang talaga, we can't watch it together like we planned."

"We can naman. Over the phone lang."

They both laughed.

They did not hang up and watched the show while talking on the phone until the show ended.

"Did I ever tell you you're the cutest halimaw ever?" He asked her.

"Hahaha. No. But you are, Elmo!"

"So, you think I'm cute huh?"

"Hmmmm. Pagiisipan ko!"

"I love you baby."

"Iyyyyy. Moe naman eh."

"What? I said I love you."

"Inulit pa talaga?"

"Eh kasi nga.. I love you Jea."

She giggled.

"Jea?"

"Oh?"

"I love you. Serioso."

She let go of a sigh.

"I love you too, Moe. And sana makauwi ka na soon because your baby misses you so much."

"I want to hug you right now."

"Me too."

"..And I want to kiss you. But I'm too far away."

For a while there was silence. He broke the ice.

"Baby, anjan ka pa?"

"Yes, love."

"Can you sing for me please?"

"Ano naman song?"

"Ikaw na bahala, basta kantahan mo ako."

She cleared her throat then started to sing.

"That's just beautiful, baby. You're beautiful. Thank you, baby." He  told her, with a stuffy tone to his voice.

"Ba't ganyan boses mo, naiyak ka ba?"

"Yes. I'm so overwhelmed kasi of how much I'm blessed to have you."

"Awwww. Me too. You are a blessing to me."

"Moe, kanina pa tapos yung show ah, di ka pa ba nagugutom? Halika na dinner muna tayo." His road manager interrupted with a knock on his door.

"Ok ate, susunod na ako." He responded then turned to her.

"Baby, tinatawag nako nila Ate para magdinner."

"Ang daya hindi mo pa nga ako kinakantahan eh." She teased him.

"Hahahaha. Sige, may utang ako sayo. Later, I'll call you again before bed, I'll sing to you. Kain ka na rin. Usap tayo mamaya. Ok?"

"Ok. I love you."

"I love you."

Then they hang up.

He went to have dinner then their entire group decided to go for some drinks in the nearby sing-along bar.

Before 10pm, he decided to send her a text message.

LOVE: BABY, NAGKAAYAN KAMI MAGVIDEOKE AFTER DINNER. I WANT TO CALL YOU TO SAY GOOD NIGHT BUT IT'S TOO NOISY HERE. I'LL CALL YOU IN THE MORNING. GOOD NIGHT. I LOVE YOU.

She replied.

BABY: OK LOVE. HAVE FUN AND TAKE CARE. YUNG UTANG MONG SONG SA AKIN AH. MAGPRACTICE KA NA. HAHA. I LOVE YOU. GOOD NIGHT.

He smiled as he thought of a funny idea. He asked his RM to take his video as he keyed in the code if his song choice.

He sent her a snippet of him singing her song.

LOVE: I KNOW I DON'T DO YOUR SONG JUSTICE BUT I HOPE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I'M THINKING OF YOU IN EVERYTHING I DO. I LOVE YOU BABY. SEE YOU SOON.

She smiled as she sent him a reply.

BABY: COME HOME SOON MY LOVE. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO AND THE SONG. I LOVE YOU. OFF TO BED, GOOD NIGHT.

Then she went to sleep with a happy heart.
