I become king tommorow. At noon.

Right when Nico is going to be killed.

But if I can move up when I become king to an earlier spot....I can cancel him being killed!

It was extremely late now and I decided I would need my energy tomorrow, so I went to sleep.

I paced back and forth in the cell.

I'm going to die tommorow.

Those words kept floating around my head.

I sighed, and sat down in a corner. If I were lucky, then maybe I could get a good night of rest before I die tommorow.

You've faced the consequences, Nico.

You could've avoided this.

Today is the day. I become king today. Nico could die today.

I made my way towards the dungeon. I found Nico in a cell, pacing.

"Nico!" I whispered.

He looked up and relief flooded into his eyes.

"Oh gods, William!" He said.

"Just call me Will. Nico, I have a plan. So today I become king. It's going to be at the exact same time they're going to kill you."

"Oh."

"And if I'm king before you're killed, then I can stop them from killing you. But I need you to keep them waiting as long as possible."

He nodded, "Thank you so much, Will!"

"Prince William!" I heard my dad yell. "Why are you talking to him?"

"I was saying goodbye," I lied. Nico gave me a grateful look.

"Why'd you want to say goodbye to a neko?"

I didn't answer. If I did, I would probably end up yelling at him.

I went up into the ballroom. That was where I was going to be crowned king. There was already  town people there. The ceremony was already starting.

"....and now King Apollo, please bring your eldest son."

My dad took my arm and led me up to the front of the room, which was cleared for us.
There was a man in long robes at the front. He started rambling on about how this was a glorious day in which power was passed down and all that weird stuff.

"William Solace, do you promise to retain peace and glory in the kingdom of Sun?"

"I promise." I said.

I wanted to say, 'Come one just hurry up and make me king because Nico is dying right now' but I held back. That would probably make them doubt me becoming king.

"And do you promise to treat all equally?"

I almost laughed. Did my dad have to answer these questions?
