"I've been watching you for quite some time, rebel." Kylo Ren said,  his true voice concealed through an electronic facade. I assumed he was looking at me, though I couldn't see through that mask.

He was crouched in front of me, his expression unseen.

"Oh yea?" I taunted. "Then you should know that I want nothing more than to spill your guts across the floor."

"That's what they all say," He chuckled. "Honestly, I'm not that bad."

"You're a blade wielding psychopath in a mask," I retorted. "Who's killed thousands of innocent people."

Kylo stood there for quite some time before pulling down his hood, his fingers hesitantly resting on the sides of his helmet.

I raised my eyebrows expectantly, seeing if he would go through with it or not. As if reading my thoughts, he pulled the helmet off of his head.

I sucked in a breath as he revealed himself. This was not what I was  expecting. The vibrant, handsome man in front of me was nothing like the ragged, scarred, beast I'd believed was hiding under the mask.

"Am I really that scary now?" He smirked, breaking me from my thoughts. I couldn't do this. I couldn't let him tempt me.

"You're still a monster," I sneered. "And that's what you'll always be."

"Don't speak to me that way!" He seethed. Startled, I reeled back, biting my lip. I was showing weakness, a realization which enraged me to the fullest.

Seeing what he'd done, Kylo's expression softened. "I'm sorry."  He mumbled.

I blinked in surprise. Kylo Ren, slayer of thousands, Sith Lord of the First Order, was apologizing to me? That remark alone made me believe there was still good in him. Which brought me to my next question. "Why did you leave and join them?"

"None of your business," He shot back, his walls rising back up. But I was determined to break him. Terrified of his reaction, I approached him slowly, cupping his face in my hands.

I closed my eyes, searching his  memories for anything that would help. "Y-you're in my head," He stammered. "Only the most advanced Jedi can do that. Who are you?"

I ignored his comment, continuing to probe his head. I came upon the strongest of his memories and delved into it. "I see a little boy, so afraid and alone," I whispered, my heart flooding with sadness.

"Abandoned by his mother and father. You're lonely, more lonely then you've ever been. You seek love." It broke my heart in two.

"And you," He spoke up. "You've  been heartbroken, left by your mother and father to die. Luke Skywalker, you see him as the father you've never had."

My heart clenching with fear and sorrow, I pulled away, wiping away the tears that were sliding down my cheeks. "Just kill me already," I whimpered. "That's what you came here for, right?"

"I came to see you, Y/N," He replied, putting a hand on my shoulder. "I feel a connection to you, stronger then anything I've ever felt. It's........"

"Like a pull you can't ignore," I finished. His eyes widened. "I feel it, too." I told him.

"You speak as if it were nothing unusual," He scoffed, turning his back to me.

"Because it can't happen, Kylo!" I exclaimed. "Thisthing between us, cannever happen!"

"And why not?" He demanded.

"Take a look around!" I cried. "Your world, it's one I can't even begin to fathom."

"But that can change," Kylo said. "You can stay here, become my apprentice. I want you to stay, Y/N."

"And why's that?"

"Because this pull I feel, it's more then just a curiosity," He sighed, running his hand through his raven-black hair. "It's a desire. I want you more than I've ever wanted anything."

"Then come home, Ben," I said. He flinched at the mention of his true name, like simply speaking it hurt him deeply.

"Ben's gone," He muttered. "That man was weak and foolish like his father. So I destroyed him."

"It's not too late," I said softly, laying my palm on his cheek. "You can change who you are, Ben."

"I can't," he choked, tears spilling down his face. "Not after everything I've done. You're right, Y/N. I am a monster."

"No, you're not," I told him, regretting what I'd said earlier. "I believe. You should, too."

"But Supreme Leader Snoke-"

"You can break free of his control," I said, taking his hands in mine. "Just let go, Ben."

"No," He shook his head, his eyes darkening. He ripped his hands out of mine, looking at me with pure disgust. "Get away from me, rebel!" He spat.

"Ben, this isn't you," I pleaded, trying desperately to tear him out of Snoke's control.

"Don't call me that!" He screamed. "He doesn't exist anymore!"

"Yes. He. Does." I said, crashing my lips to his. I felt him struggle at first, but gradually, he eased into this kiss, wrapping his arms around my body. The darkness faded from his eyes, a tiny ember of hope replacing it.

His hand reached up to cup my face, deepening the kiss. My fingers played with his soft, black locks, my other hand placed on the back of his neck. When we broke apart he smiled weakly, pressing his forehead against mine.

"Take me away from here, Y/N," He whispered. "Please."

Smiling warmly, I pressed my lips against his once more, drawing the last shred of darkness out of him for good. "Let's go home, Ben."
