After the rain, comes the rainbow -Kylo Ren

It was another ordinary day in Starkiller base. Well, nothing was really ordinary when you worked for the most hated organization in the galaxy, but I liked to pretend it was normal. Anyways, my colleagues, Zack and Tim, and I were taking our usual lunch in the employee cafeteria.

Thirty minutes into lunch, the door to the cafeteria slid upwards, and a blonde radar technician stepped in, his eyes raking over everyone in the room. I immediately recognized him, who could forget his face? Kylo Ren. The question was, what the hell was he doing disguised as a radar technician?

"Hi. I'm Matt," he introduced. "I'm a radar technician."

The room remained quiet, no one seeming to acknowledge his presence. Boy, if they knew who Matt really was. Pushing my plate aside, I flashed Matt a smile, silently inviting him to sit with us. With a blank expression, he slid onto the bench next to me, his arms brushing up against mine.

Just that mere touch sent tingles up my spine. Nobody ever got this close to Kylo Ren without suffering serious consequences. He sat there stock-still, only moving to adjust his gold-rimmed glasses.

"So what do you guys think of Kylo Ren?" he asked bluntly. I raised a glass of water to my lips to keep from giggling at his forwardness.

"Well, I'll say this for Kylo; I think he get's a bad rap." Zack replied. Tim just scoffed.

"What?"

"Yea," Zack continued. "He's trying to accomplish something that's never been done in the history of the galaxy, ya know? Rule everything? That's pretty impressive, I admire the guy."

"Yes," Matt agreed. Exactly!"

"I think he's misunderstood," I spoke up, catching Matt's attention.

"What do you mean?" he pressed.

"Everybody says he's this cruel, heartless guy, but I know he's not," I told him. "He's just suffered a lot of pain, and he's only protecting himself from being hurt again."

"I think you should tell Kylo that," he said, swallowing deeply. "He'd be glad to know at least one of you doesn't believe he's a monster."

"Y/N's just blinded by love." Tim muttered, causing Matt's head to snap in his direction. I shot Tim a glare, kicking his leg from under the table.

"Ow!"

"Shut up, Tim." I warned, my face reddening. There was no way we were talking about my feelings right now. Not when the root of them is sitting right fucking next to me.

"Y/N's been in love with Kylo Ren forever," Zack teased. "You should see the way she looks at him."

"Shut up!" I hissed, kicking his leg also.

"What?" Zack complained. "It's not like he's actually here!"

Oh, gods above, please help me get through this.

"So what's it like working at Starkiller base?" Matt said, as if the previous conversation had never happened. Now that hurts. Zack and Time had just stupidly told him about my feelings, and he just continued on as if it were nothing. He's Kylo Ren, what'd you expect? He's the 'cruel, heartless monster', remember?

"Work is work." Zack shrugged.

"You know a buddy of mine saw Kylo Ren take his shirt off in the shower, and he said that Kylo Ren had an eight-pack," Matt said, taking a sip of my water. Go ahead, I wasn't drinking it anyway, I rolled my eyes. "He said Kylo Ren was shredded."

"What?" Tim shook his head in disbelief. "Your friend's a liar, man, Kylo Ren is a punk bitch. That guy looks like he weighs thirty pounds soaking wet underneath that little black dress."

Now that makes me mad. Looking at Matt, I could see he wore the same expression I did.Fury.

"I see what's in your mind," he seethed as Tim started to choke. Matt lifted his hands, clenching his fingers together tighter and tighter, nearly knocking the wind out of Tim. "It. Is. Stupid!" he shouted, pushing his hand forward. Tim flew back, crashing into and wrecking the beverage machine.

Oh, boy.

                                                                                       . . . . . . . . . . . .

The Matt facade didn't last very long. Two days after he nearly killed Tim, Kylo Ren revealed himself, shocking almost everyone. Zack found out shortly after I did, and had apologized for revealing my secret. I don't blame him, it's not his fault. He didn't know that Matt was Kylo.

I was just waiting for the moment Kylo Ren came to kill me for having such feelings.

It was exactly 11:28 at night when a loud knock sounded at my door. Dragging myself out of bed, blinked away the grogginess in my eyes, pressing open button on the panel next to the door. I almost fell back when I saw Kylo Ren standing outside my door, a stoic expression glued to his face.

"Hello, Y/N." he greeted.

"Kylo," I stammered, sweat beginning to drip down my back. "What brings you here?"

"The other day in the cafeteria, when Zack told me you had feelings for me, was it true?"

"I....." I bit my lip, not knowing what to say.

"Is it true?" he repeated, grabbing my arms tightly.

"Yes!" I exclaimed. "Yes, it's true. I'm sorry, okay?"

"Sorry for what?" he questioned, tilting his head to the side ever so slightly.

"Sorry for falling in love with you in the first place." I muttered, lowering my head.

"You were the first person to truly know what I was feeling," he told me. "The first one to believe I'm not a monster, but a person."

"Because I know you're not a monster," I whispered. "You're just a man who's been screwed over too many times; so broken he can't even find the right pieces anymore."

"Actually, I found one." he said, lifting my head to look at him. His hand cupped my cheek gently, his chocolate brown eyes locking with mine. Without another word, He pressed his lips to mine, wrapping his arms around my waist.

Salty tears trickling down my cheeks, I kissed him back, winding my arms around his neck. I heard theswoosh of my door closing as Kylo broke the kiss, his fingers entangling themselves in my brown tresses. "Don't cry," he soothed, wiping away the last of my tears with a glowed thumb. "I'm here now."

"You know, you look good without all that black on." I teased, referring to his orange and grey jumpsuit from yesterday, when he was Matt.

"Don't get used to it." he scowled, making me laugh. The sound of my laughter must've perked him up, because for the first time ever, I saw him smile.

"You smiled!" I grinned, playing with the raven-black hair at the nape of his neck. His smile immediately turned back into a frown, causing me to roll my eyes. "Is it so bad for you to be happy?"

"It shows weakness." he stated. Seeing my disappointed expression, though, he gave in, smiling warmly at me once more.

"I smile only for you, Y/N," he said, pressing a lingering kiss to my lips. I smirked and burrowed into his chest, humming with content.

"I wouldn't have expected anything less,Matt."

And cue the scowl.
