He could practically feel his Beta, Alex and his Third, Josh glancing at him in confusion. The plan they came up with on the way to Darren's pack flew out the window as soon as Kole stepped onto their land. They were going to challenge Darren for his pack but instead of challenging him, Kole asked to see his unmarked she-wolves.

The warm tingling feeling that ran through his body, the way his inner wolf was on high alert-almost in a frenzy, told him that his mate was close by and he just had to find her. Alex and Josh made no noise in confusion but he could hear them talking to each other through the mind connection, his higher ranked pack had, even in their human skin. They had no idea where he was going with this, but they followed him blindly. It was their loyalty and trust in Kole that made him confident in his choice to make his best friends his beta and third, instead of finding other wolves.

Kole watched as the she-wolves lined up, eager for his attention. Starting at the closest female he made his way down the line, none of them calling to him or his wolf.

The closer he got to the end of the line, the more excited his wolf was. It was the figure at the very end of the line that caught his eye. The women was petite no taller than 5'2", her brown hair hiding her face but he pictured her with hazel, or green eyes. She didn't make eye contact with him which was a normal way to show an Alpha respect. But this was different, this was out of fear.

Kole frowned as he looked down at her. Finally she looked up at him, shifting uncomfortably on her feet, and he was captured by her green eyes. They weren't as bright as he thought, something deep inside clouding them. She was his, he could feel it. His happiness was short lived however, as he noticed the black spots on her face, the deep bags under her eyes and the other marks that blemished her skin.

"Who did this to you?" His wolf growled.

She went to look away and before he could stop himself he cupped her chin. He didn't miss the flinch as he touched her.

"I asked you a question" He demanded. Seeing her start to tremble after his growl he let her chin go, not wanting to make her uncomfortable or worse, fear him. "Who dare harm my mate?" He questioned looked to one of the others seeing who wanted to confess. He knew it was mainly his wolf that was out. His eyes were silver, as they usually get when he's really angry or if his wolf had more of an influence on him.

He watched as everyone avoided eye contact, but suddenly Alpha Darren seemed to snap out of it, a smirk forming on his face.

"The runt is your mate? Well you can have her or what's left of her that is. She required some disciplinary action so she might be a dud. She's definitely damaged goods."  Kole couldn't help but tense. Out of the corner of his eye he watched as his mate cringed, shying away. It took everything in him not to attack Darren. As much as he wanted to, his wolf was telling him that he would scare his mate away and that was the last thing he wanted to do.

"Watch yourself." Kole warned, the muscles in his jaw tightening.

"Why don't like the truth?" Darren asked. Before Kole had anytime to respond; it was his normally calm and collected sister that made the first move.

"You bastard!" Georgia snapped breaking from Alex's embrace and lunged at Darren, sifting in mid air. Blinking rapidly, Kole glanced at his sister in surprise.

"Georgia stop." He ordered sending to the ground as she stumbled over the Alpha order.

"You better watch yourself." Darren snarled glaring at Georgia, causing her made Alex to tense at the threat.

"We don't mean any harm. I just want my sister and my mate." Kole said glancing to his left where his mate stood, staring at the ground where Georgia laid. He watched as she looked to his sister in concern, worried about her. She was known for her cool temper, and the fact that she lost it so quickly obviously showed how troubled she was by the situation.

Georgia sent him a glare before she stood between Alex and his mate. Kole couldn't help but roll his eyes, it was just like his sister to lose control and shift when they didn't have spare clothes for her. The dark grey wolf sat on her haunches, sitting at least  six inches over his mates head.

"I don't know if I can do that." Darren spoke moving towards Aurora. His eyes were on her, causing a chill to grow through her body. She stepped backwards, moving closer to Georgia's side. Seeing his mate cower Kole growled. To make matters worse Darren reached out to touch her face. Instantly Kole's hand flew out catching Darren's wrist with a growl.

"Don't touch her."

"She is part of my  pack until I see fit. I don't have to let her go with you if I don't want to." Darren narrowed his eyes.

Aurora stared at Darren, her fear growing. He didn't want to let her go, she would forever be locked in his clutches.

"Unless you want me to challenge you, you will let me have my mate without a fuss." Kole spoke. There wasn't much more that he could take. He wasn't going to let Darren treat him like this, and he sure as hell wasn't going to let him touch his mate again.

"You want to challenge me?" Darren spoke cockily. "Fine, so be it."

"Darren, what are you doing?" A blonde spoke, her eyes worried as she looked to Darren. "Just let them go, we don't want the runt anyway." She spoke. Kole could tell that the women wasn't Darren's mate, but she was someone important to him.

"Shut up Angel." Darren snapped at her, causing the blonde to flinch.  Darren was silent for a moment, ignoring the glare that Kole was sending his way.

"You know what, fine. Have the runt, but let me warn you, she's a little bitch. " Darren smirked.

Something inside Kole caused him to snap and before he could contain himself he was shifting, and lunging at Darren.

Aurora watched as the two Alphas met in the middle, her stomach lurching as she watched them crash into each other snarling. Not one to like confrontation and wolf battles; Aurora couldn't help but back up. Seeing Darren's beta Ron, and third Walter shift ready to defend their Alpha, the men with Georgia's brother shifted as well.   Aurora didn't want this, she didn't want to be apart of this.  Scanning the crowd her eyes fell on Alec, and felt a cold chill run through her body at the smirk he was giving her. She knew that look, it was the same look every time he gave her before he hurt her. Panicking, she shifted and ran into the forest.

Kole threw Darren to the ground, relieved to see that the wolf wasn't getting back up. He knew he was defeated. Standing tall, Kole was relieved to see that Darren's men, and his were standing down. Kole won fair and square, Darren was just lucky that he spared his life.  Kole felt anxious, and he knew it wasn't him feeling it, it was his mate.

"Where is she?" He asked turning to his sister, to see that his mate was missing from her side.

"I don't know. She was just here." Georgia spoke glancing around.  The four of them spun around looking for the Alpha's mate, their soon to be Luna, but no success.

"Alec's missing." Georgia stated. "We have to go."

Knowing her new friend, she was in the woods. Georgia took off in the direction looking for her.

"Kole, there's something you should know." Georgia spoke as they ran. They were getting closer, she knew it. There was snarling coming from ahead.

"What?" Kole demanded.

Georgia didn't have time to explain because they tore into a clearing, and saw a large wolf towering over something, sharp teeth out.

Kole saw a little ball of grey, and knew it was his mate. He didn't have time to take a closer look at her because he was too busy tossing the attacking wolf across the clearing. The fur on the back of is neck was standing tall as he stared down, at who Kole assumed was Alec. Seeing his Beta and his Third, Kole allowed them to finish the wolf; his sentence was death for touching an Alpha's mate.

Relieved he didn't have to worry about taking care of the death sentence, Kole looked down and saw what he was standing over.

His throat was dry as he noticed the fox looking up at him with wide green eyes.

His mate was a fox.
