"He's not a rogue." Rory shook her head, looking up at him. She could feel Ian standing behind her, using her as a shield and trembling into her back.

"Rory, move away." Kole demanded not taking his eyes off the kids behind her.

"NO." She snapped growling at him. Kole looked down at her in surprise. He could see the fury in her eyes and knew that this was not an argument he would win.  "He needs help."

Kole couldn't help but notice how attractive he found this little spitfire in front of him. She was finally growing out of her shell.

"Fine." Kole said, glaring at the kid who caused them to have their first fight.

"Ian, come with me. I can get you some new clothes and make you some lunch." Rory smiled to the young man who was shifting awkwardly on his feet.  She grabbed his wrist, and pulled him along with her, leaving Kole standing there dumbfounded.

______

It was silent as they returned to the pack house, and Rory gathered clothes of Kole's, and sent Ian to the shower in the spare bedroom, before beginning fixing it up for the young boy.  Kole didn't let the kid out of his sight when he was alone with his mate.  Kole watched as she mothered the kid made him food and Kole wouldn't admit it but he was jealous of the punk kid.

"I would be terrified of you too, If you were glaring holes into my head." Georgia spoke a soft smile on her face as she watched her brother watch as his mate cared for the fourteen year old.

"He should be." Kole growled.

"Don't be so jealous."  Georgia said. "Don't you understand what's happening?"

"What are you babbling about?" Kole demanded rolling his eyes, but not taking them off of the kid.

"Her fox is starting to grow into taking the Luna position."

Kole's eyes snapped over to her.

__

Rory moved around the kitchen with practice ease, making a him a filling meal to fill his hungry stomach.  She had noticed the marks on his coat when he was in his wolf form, and judging by the scar on his back, this kid needed someone to care for him.

"Thank you." Ian spoke, taking the plate of food from her.

"Of course." Rory nodded, smiling brightly before wrapping an arm around his shoulder to comfort him. Ian glanced over to the man that was leaning against the doorframe, growing uneasy as he glared at him, watching his every move.

"Ian, do you have anyone you need to contact?" Rory asked.

"No. My family wont care that I am gone."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive." He growled in uncontrolled anger only to look down embarrassed. "I'm sorry."

"It's ok." She smiled.

"Watch yourself pup." Kole warned taking a step further inside the kitchen.

"Kole." Rory said with a slight glare.

The day went on with Rory taking care of Ian and making him a bedroom in the house. Kole left Peter in charge  of watching over the duo, before going to work on the house. He needed to get them their own space.

Rory was sitting on their bed, reading when Kole came in looking tired.

"Where have you been?" She asked, the doubt in the back of her mind that he was doing something with Rachel.

"Out." Kole responded taking off his shirt and tossing it in the direction of the clothes hamper, only to miss.

"Ok." Rory said to the closed door. Setting her book down she crawled under the covers, wondering if this was what her life was going to be like now. She was becoming lonely.

_____

Kole woke to an empty bed. A moment of panic hit him as he sat up and didn't see his mate in sight. Last time she was by herself, she found the rogue kid. Who knows what she could get herself into. Not bothering with a shirt he ran downstairs, where he heard noises.

It was soft whispers and sniffles that were coming from the spare bedroom Ian was staying in.

"It will be ok." He heard Rory whisper.

"I dont have anything or anywhere to go."

"You are always welcome here."

"But Kole-."

"Kole doesn't understand what its like to be on the run from someone who's mentally and physically abused you." Rory spoke, making Kole feel guilty about how he had been treating Ian.  "He's a good man, and a good Alpha. Right now, he's just stressed and he will calm down."

The duo went silent, but sniffles were still heard.

"Does it ever get easier? Your nightmares?" Ian asked softly.

"Yeah, it does." Rory said with a smile. "Now, get some sleep. If you need anything you come and get me or get Georgia."

Kole backed away from the door, waiting for her to exit.

"Is he ok?" He asked.

"He's fine." Rory said before turning and make her way to their bedroom, Kole following her in silence.

==============

Two weeks later, Rory was sleeping only to be woke up by a smiling Kole.

"Kole? What are you doing?" She questioned glancing at the alarm clock only to groan when she saw it wasn't even 3 in the morning.

"I want to show you something." he beamed.

"It's 3 am, can't this wait until the sun is in the sky?" She questioned rolling over to her otherside..

"I want to show you what I have been working on all this time. The reason as to why I haven't been around as much." Kole pleaded. He knew he should have waited until she was actually awake, but he couldn't help but hope that showing her the house would fix the space that he  had accidently  put between them.

"Ok." She nodded, curiosity getting the best of her. Pushing back the blankets, she allowed him to take her hand and lead her down the stairs and outside.

It seemed like the walk took forever but finally he came to a stop and wrapped his hands around her eyes.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"It's a surprise." he said, "Now, Its not completely finished but its almost done."

Rory wasn't sure what she was expecting, but she definitely was not expecting to be standing in front of a cute little white home.

"I don't understand." She said confused.

"I have been working on fixing this place up, for us. Traditionally the Alpha and his mate would live in the house that we are currently living in. But, I want us to have something that we create together." He rubbed the back of his neck, nervous that she was just staring at him. "You like those home shows, so I thought you could make your own home. Our home."

"Kole, I-." She was speechless. She had been afraid that he was seeking out another women, when this whole time he was making them a home. "This is... WOW."

"You're crying, why are you crying?" Kole panicked, sure that he messed something up.

"Its a good cry. I promise." She chuckled before throwing herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Want to see the inside?" Kole asked.

"Yes!"

Despite being woken up so early, she took every inch of the four bedroom, three and a half bathroom house.

"Oh Kole, I love it." She said kissing him.

"Good, I'm glad."
