Thank you for the journey, It's been fun.

Three months later;

"Ryder, have you got everything?" I shout from the bathroom, tying my hair up into a high ponytail in an attempt to ease my nerves.

"Yes, for the fourth time princess." He shouts back from our bedroom – well mine, but he just doesn't seem to leave – his voice sounding slightly strained.

"I'm sorry, I'm just freaking out," I say as I pull down the rest of my–his–yellow hoodie, walking over towards Ryder. He smiles at me, opening up his arms. I smile back, instantly crawling into his arms and hugging him, feeling his arms gently go around me.

"I know gorgeous, stop apologising. Stop freaking out. We're all gonna be there. Me, you, Jake, Aj and Mark. If anything goes wrong or happens, we'll sought it out. We always do." He says, referring to the trip we're going to be embarking on soon. Ryder didn't specify why we're going abroad, where we're going or what he plans to do, but he did say that we're going to meet his grandparents which sounds cool.

 Frightening, but cool. 

Dylan and Kaylee are going to stay here and spend some time 'developing their relationship' and 'learning about each other' whilst we're away, saying how they'd prefer to learn more about each other before taking a trip overseas. I thought she was up to something fishy, but after I asked her about it she just kept repeating how she really likes Dylan and how she wants to spend more time with him here instead of embarking on a trip overseas. 

She also mentioned something about a magazine and how it spoke about relationships and how over sixty per cent of newly-formed relationships end once the couple takes a leap too soon. I don't believe it, but oh well. If she wants to stay here and be smitten with Dylan, then let her be. 

"Hello? Princess? You okay?" Ryder asks, curiosity lacing his voice. I nod.

"Yeah, I was just thinking," I reply, snuggling further into him. Ryder sighs, running his free hand through my hair whilst his other one rests against his forehead.

"I love you, you know that right?" He says, causing me to scoff slightly. He's been repeating the same three words for the past couple of months and although I love him to death, it eventually gets annoying. But this time, It's different. I can sense something's. . . different. An underlying tone of... lust?

"Yeah, and I love you... but I don't know. Overseas, wherever you're taking us, I'm positive that compared to California it's a whole 'nother world. What if you fall for someone else whilst we're abroad?" I ask, the thought terrifying me. Goosebumps form on my arms as Ryder's grip tightens around me, pressing me closer against his body.

He chuckles in disbelief. "I can't fall for another girl. They can try as hard as they want, but at the end of the day you're the one with the ring on your finger." He says, his voice teasing in an attempt to ease my fears.

"I know, but what if something happens and you change your mind?" I mutter, pouting into his chest as possibilities flash through my mind.

Oh Kenzie, if only you knew...
