The rest of the night, Betsy practiced hard until morning, while Pete slept in. He was pretty proud and confident his band would win that $100,000 prize. The next day, the audition day, the two showed up on time. Only 10 were to remain after the auditions, out of the whole 235 contestants. They each had numbers, with Betsy's being 235, and Pete's as 234.After Pete's audition, it was Betsy's turn. She slowly walked to the stage. Her knees knocked and she gulped. She took a deep breath. She started singing, and her voice was so gentle, so smooth, and so, so, beautiful... or so did Pete think. Her voice was calm and soothing in the verses and loud and powerful during the chorus. After her performance, she revived a standing ovation that lasted about 3 mins. The auditions were over. " Alright, so the 10 students who passed the auditions are...
