I sat at my table in civics class waiting for the teacher to come in and class to commence. As Mr Walker walked in a hooded figure followed closely behind holding his thinks tightly to his chest.
"Good morning class" Mr Walker said,
"Good morning Mr Walker" the class replied in union,
"Today we have a new student, please give a warm welcome to Aden" the boy then took his hood off and underneath was a cute light brown haired boy who smiled shyly. "Alright uhhhhh Liv, do you mid putting your hand up so Aden knows who you are" I slowly put my hand up and smiled at the boy. "Aden this is liv, you'll be sitting next to her for this class" my heart started to pound as he slowly made his way towards me
"Hey" was the first word I heard come from him since he came here,
"Hey" I smiled
"What even is civics I've never even heard of it" he asked confused
"Civics is the study of theoretical, political and practical aspects of citizenship, as well as its rights and duties." I replied reciting the same thing Mr Walker tells us every year.
"Thank God he chose to sit next to the smart person" Aden laughed
"Hey! I was thinking about helping you but now I'm just gonna let you fail on your own." I giggled
"What no, I'm so sorry pleaseee help me" he joked. The rest of our lessons together played out a little like that as we grew closer and closer becoming best friends.
"Oi turdface" I heard Aden calling out to me,
"What's up dickhead" I replied turning around only to bump into my brother, Liam. "Oh hey bro"
"I don't like you hanging out with that boy" he gesture towards Aden who was waiting for me at my locker. "Why can't you find some friends that are girls?"
"I do have friends that are girls I just prefer Aden" I said calmly
"I'm watching you little sis" Liam replied before walking off with his jock friends.
"What was that all about?" Aden asked as I made my way over to him,
"Oh nothing just my brother being over protective" I smiled
"About what"
"You" I laughed
"I can see why" he smirked
"What do you mean" I asked confused
"Liv, I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me someone" he sounded nervous, "like as more than friends"
"No sorry I don't swing that way" I laughed
"Oh okay then" Aden said sadly, making his way down that hall,
"Wait Aden! I was just kidding" I laughed "of course I'll go out with you"
"Haha very funny!" he joked "I literally thought I ruined our friendship"
"Aww I'm sorry" I hugged him before walking next to him to our civics class.
