Chase's POV

I sat in Crane’s bed, bored out of my mind. Johnny sent me here because he’s making powerful toxin so potent that it will incapitate someone with only a quarter teaspoon of toxin, which he was trying for combat instead of gas, ever since Batman sprayed him with it. We haven’t spoken since I laughed at the story from when he was working at Arkham. I laid back on the bed and closed my eyes. The popped open and I looked in the corner of the room to see two large green eyes peering back at me.

“Missy! You scared me!” I said, holding my chest. I heard a door slam and Crane arguing with someone. I picked up my precious kitty and slowly opened the door. I crept to the stairs and sat down, listening.

“Look, she had nowhere to go! She’s one of my best friends, I’m not going to leave her!” I heard Johnny yell.

“I just think she’d be better in me and my Puddin’s care.” I heard a heavy Brooklyn accent answer calmly back.

“And why do you think that?” I heard Scarecrow hiss. He’s going to spray Harley!

“Because, Doc, you let my bozos invade your home while you argued with me and Mistah Hammer.” I heard Johnny scream, a hammer hitting someone, and someone fly into a wall. A bozo grabbed me from behind and Harley skipped up the stairs. She grabbed my backpack and the goon dragged me down the stairs. I saw Johnny sitting by the wall, blood coming from the side of his mouth, his black hair in a mop, but otherwise awake, his blue eyes cautious. I saw a crumpled body in a green suit and fire red hair across the room. Mister Hammer, whoever he was, had hit Teddy baseball style, into the wall.

“TEDDY!” I screamed, reaching for him. The goon pulled me back and slapped me. It reminded me of my first night in Arkham, when Brendon slapped me. I growled with anger and I clenched my fist. The goon crumbled in pain. I raised my fist, which levitated him, and threw him into a pile of his friends, knocking them all unconscious. Harley ran for me and I picked her up by her neck and slammed her into the wall. “What the hell are you doing here?” I asked.

“Mistah J wanted you in his care. I came for you.” She coughed out.

“Tell Joker I don’t want his care. I’ve got the only two people I need sitting over by the wall. So thanks, but no thanks.” I said, knocking her unconscious. I pulled out my cell phone and called some of Johnny’s guys. “Boys, I need your help. Can you pick up a shipment and drop it off to Joker? Like, now?” I asked.

“Course, Chase. Anything you need.” The captain of the milita stated.

“Thanks, Kyle.” I said, hanging up the phone. I ran over to Johnny first. I checked him. He was good. I ran over to Teddy and turned him over. I felt his chest and checked his neck. I sobbed when I felt 3 broken ribs and no pulse. I put my head on his chest and cried. I felt the little flutter of his heart and a deep gasp. I looked and watched as his green eyes flicker open. He took a deep breath and said my name. I felt his ribs again. Healed. I gasped and stumbled back. “T-Teddy?” He had a scared look on his face then it was gone. All of it. I sat up in John’s bed, holding my chest. I grabbed a coat off the chair and ran down the stairs.

“Where are you going?” Johnny asked. No goons in the living room, no Riddler, no Harley. I slipped on my vans and pulled on Johnny’s coat from last night.

“Out. I’ll be back soon.” I opened the door without a second thought and started running down the street. I stopped when it started raining and hid under an awning. “ I have no idea where Teddy lives.” I whispered. I reached into the pocket of the coat with my phone and pulled out a paper with Teddy’s address, that was convinient. I put it into the GPS on my phone and saw a sports car sitting in an alley. I heard screams and shouts so I went to investigate.

“Look! I told you to get my money in YESTERDAY! WHERE IS IT?!” I heard an unfamiliar voice yell. I walked into the alley and saw a man with a red helmet on his head.

“Mr. Red Hood, I-I’m so sorry!” I heard the short man that was in, who I assumed to be, Red Hood’s grasp.

“Sorry doesn’t bring me cash. So go get it, or I’ll find you again.” Red Hood let the scared man go and he ran past me. “Who are you?” He asked, looking at me in surprise.

“Chase Sage, never seen YOU around. Who are you?” I asked.

“Red Hood. I’m new in town.” He said, sticking his hand out. I shook it.

“So, Red Hood. I suppose you won’t tell me who you are?” I asked. He shook his head. “Well, if you ever need a plan, call me up. I swear, I don’t bite.” I said, writing my number on a piece of paper John had in his pocket. I handed it to him and smiled.

“You’re different from all these other villains.” He said, putting the paper in his pocket. It started raining and I swore.

“I have to go.” I said, getting soaked already.

“Do you need a ride? It’s raining, and you kind of look…. Uh.. Provacative.” He asked, pointing to the sleek red Audi R8 2011.

“T-That’s yours?” I asked, jumping into the passenger seat. He chuckled and nodded.

“Where to?” He asked. I put my phone on the dashboard and we sped to Teddy’s house. It was only two minutes so I was still wet. I walked up to the door and knocked. Teddy looked through the peephole and narrowed his eyes. He opened the door and he was dressed in what he was last night.

“Well you had a fun night with Crane.” He smirked. I looked down and realized what Red was talking about before. Black leather short shorts, Johnny’s green shirt and his jacket.

“Someone jealous, Nigma?” I asked innocently. He laughed.

“Hardly. I’m shocked Crane could get any girl into bed with him, let alone you.” Teddy said, his smirk growing.

“Well he is the smartest villain out there. I think smart is very sexy.” I said, leaning against the door.

“Are you here for a reason? I’m very busy!” He yelled. Hit a nerve.

“I-I had a dream Teddy.” I said, dropping the act, showing my terror and confusion. He didn't care.

“Why don’t you tell Crane.” He growled, slamming the door. I felt tears come to my eyes .

"Chase?" I heard Red ask. I shook my head and began walking back to Johnny’s house, crying.

*Awaw I'm sorry :( But I decided to put text into my polyvore set that quotes part of my story. Hopefully, it'll stall me and my outfit making habit.*
