She felt a strange twinge in the bottom of her stomach and looked at him differently. What was this feeling? She felt her face get red, and at that moment all she could hear was his heartbeat and his comforting words.

What was this feeling?

Kaoru sped down the road at eleven at night, looking for Hikaru's car. He had randomly woken up, and instantly knew something was wrong. He had searched the entire house for his brother, and after a few minutes of panicking he decided to take out the spare car and go look for them. He had remembered Hikaru saying something about a movie, so he probably went to the theatre in the next town over.

Leave it to Hikaru to pick the farthest place away from him.

He drove and drove, and eventually he was on the same road as the theatre. After he fought off the nagging feeling of sleep for a few more minutes, he saw a dark car pulled up on the side of the road. He sighed with relief and pulled over.

Hikaru must have fallen asleep holding Haruhi, because he was woken up when a bright light flashed outside of the window. He pulled his hand out from under her head and rubbed his eyes, seeing someone open the door of the car and walk over.

It was Kaoru.

Hikaru let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in and waved. It had stopped raining, but it was still a little drizzly. Hikaru slid Haruhi off of his lap and leaned her head on the back of the seat. She moaned sleepily and curled up into a small ball on the middle of the seat. Hikaru couldn't help but notice how tear stained her face was. Even so, he thought she was very cute. His heart fluttered a bit, but then he brushed it away and opened the door slowly. Kaoru leaned up against the car with his arms crossed.

"The car broke down and we couldn't get home..." Hikaru trailed off, knowing that Kaoru didn't really care.

"It's okay. I'm here now." He yawned, stretching an arm over his head.

"How did you even know where we were and that we needed help?" He asked. Kaoru shrugged and then looked at him.

"Well... I just kinda woke up in the middle of the night and knew something was wrong." He said quietly. Hikaru's mouth fell open a little, as if he was going to speak, but no sound came out. He only nodded.

"You carry Haruhi, okay?" Kaoru asked, knowing their relationship status was rising. Hikaru opened the door again and couldn't help but smile when he saw the small brunette. She sleepily rolled over onto her other side and let out another small groan. Hikaru had to resist the urge to just stand there and watch her for a while. He slid a hand underneath her neck to support her head, and then lifted her up bridal style. Kaoru opened the backseat of the car and motioned for Hikaru to get in. He placed the sleeping Haruhi in first, and then climbed over her.

"I can drive if you want," He offered. Kaoru shook his head.

"Nah. You need her," he said, but then he struggled to correct himself. "I-I mean you need to make sure she doesn't wake up."

Hikaru didn't want to move her around anymore, but he had to put her seatbelt on. He reached across her waist to grab the belt, but was stopped when she leaned against his arm. She rubbed her cheek against his arm and sloppily draped an arm over his waist.

Haruhi wasn't asleep. Well, she was kind of in between sleep and awake. She thought that she was dreaming when Hikaru had picked her up and carried her to the car. Since she thought it was just a dream, her arm reached out and fell across his waist. She felt her head drop and rest on his arm.

"... So how did it go?" She vaguely heard Kaoru's voice coming from the front of the car. She felt Hikaru's chest vibrate as he answered,

"It was great," he said softly. Haruhi smiled slightly. He was so sweet.

"I decided I'm not going to go out with her tomorrow unless she wants to." Kaoru admitted. Haruhi began paying more attention.

"Why not?" Hikaru asked.

"Well it just seems like she has a better time with you." He pointed out. Hikaru "pfft"-ed.

"That is not true." He said. Haruhi tried to nod, but her head was too heavy. Instead, she just objected in her mind.

"Yes, it is. I mean, come on... You've always been better with girls."

"Are you kidding me? We haven't talked to a girl in years and you say that? You're the most romantic guy I've ever met, including that Tamaki Suoh."

Hearing his name brought the familiar flood of guilt back in a flash. What could she possibly do? Tell them now? No. Tomorrow. She would tell them tomorrow. Even though she knew she wouldn't be able to do it.

The conversation went on for a while, but eventually they made it back to the house. Haruhi groaned and finally opened her tired eyes. Hikaru was still there.

"Hey, you're awake! That is good." He smiled. She rubbed her eyes.

"Carry me," she whimpered, wanting to remember the few moments when he wasn't mad or upset with her. He looked pretty shocked, but then he smirked a little and nodded, lifting her up again.

"You're so tiny," He mocked her playfully. He opened the door and set down the cars keys.

"Hey, Kaoru," he said. Kaoru popped his head out from the kitchen.

"Can you call to have out car towed?" He asked. Kaoru nodded and disappeared again. Haruhi sighed again and put her arms around his neck, holding him closer.

Hikaru walked and took the elevator until they finally reached Haruhi's room. He set her down lightly on the bed and turned to walk away, but then changed his mind.

"Thank you, Haruhi," He said to her. Then he leaned down and kissed her forehead, smiling a little.

It had been a good day.

But all good things must end.
