Fireworks

Dan's pov

I grabbed his hand, and leant in towards him. He knew what I was doing, and copied my actions. He placed his hands on my shoulders. The second his soft lips touched mine, it felt like fireworks were exploding inside me. I closed my eyes, and let myself forget about everything, Phil and I were the only people in the world. I knew we would be attracting attention, we weren't exactly a normal couple.

Slowly, I felt Phil pull away. He smiled at me, and I beamed back. We sat together for a while, feeling the light spray of the fountain, and watching people walk by. After a while, I spoke.

Dan: So...?

Phil: So what?

Dan: Are you going to act like nothing just happened?

Phil: Dan can't we just.... ? Never mind, let's go home.

Phil's pov.

I saw him leaning in towards me, I quickly wiped my clammy hands on my jeans, I saw he was shaking, so I put my hands on his shoulders to steady him. The kiss was... well how can I explain it? Pefect is an understatement. His lips fit perfectly on mine, He smelled of aftershave and deodorant, a smell that reminded me of our teenage years. When we were just friends. I loved Dan, God knows I do, but I never imagined our relationship to be like this. I kindly, but firmly, pushed him away, one of us had to anyway. I smiled, but quickly turned away, to watch the emptying city centre. London was always busy, but at this time, there was only a handful of people around.

Dan: So...?

Phil: So what?

Dan: Are you going to act like nothing just happened?

Phil: Dan can't we just...? Never mind, let's go home.

I was so confused, I would do anything for him, hell, I would die for him. I'd never experienced the emotion racing through my mind, my heart was pounding, and my mind felt like it was on cloud 9. I just... I don't know maybe I'm overreacting. I'd never had anything against homosexuals, I guess I'd never even considered I could be one of them.
