"Leta. Have you seen Newt anywhere?"

It's six days after the funeral. I haven't seen Newt all day.

"No."

We are in the common room, revising for Transfiguration, Pickett in my cloak chirping. Newt has been on my mind all day. I've not seen him at lunch, or outside at the Quidditch pitch for Hufflepuff vs Slytherin (Hufflepuff 60 - 210 Slytherin.)

"Aww. Is someone worried about Newt."

"Shut up Oscar."

I look up at him. Solomon is standing next to him but looks nervous.

"Is someone being defensive."

That's it! I slap Oscar's face really hard.

"You're gonna pay for that, Gisburn!"

Our wands are held out, ready for battle when,

"Newt's in the Forbidden Forest!"

"Sol!"

I smile.

"Thank you Solomon."

I push past them and head to the forest.

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Newt?"
I walk around the edge of the forest, looking for him. Where is he? I hear chirping coming from my cloak and Pickett crawls out and up onto my shoulder.
"What, Pickett?"
He starts looking around. It isn't long until he points in a direction. I walk in it and two minutes in I hear sniffing.
"Newt?"
The sniffing stops. I carry on walking and I see him, lying against a rock. He has a black eye.
"Newt? Hey, what's wrong?"
I sit next to him but he looks away.
"Newt. What did Oscar and Solomon do?"
He turns back to me.
"It's not about them. It's about you."
I feel my mouth drop open.
"More specifically, your father."
"What about my father?"
"Your father is the reason for my father's death. Your father murdered my father. Your father-"
He stops, a mix of anger and betrayal on his face."
"Your father's Grindelwald!"
I feel myself blush. But how does he know?
"Who told you?"
"Oscar and Solomon."
My eyes widen. I think back to when I was talking to Father and I heard rustling. That was the boys!
"Well, Father had a reason for the deed." I reply.
Newt's face displays more anger and more betrayal.
"There is never a reason for murder!" He shouts.
"My father doesn't kill anyone without a reason!" I shout.
Newt scowls at me.
"Remember when your father fought against my father in London?" I ask.
He nods.
"Yeah. He told me. He said that there were these two girls there, they were about six years old. One had tan skin and long, black curls and the other had blonde hair and blue-"
He stops.
"Those girls. They were you and Leta weren't they."
I nod.
"Yes. Those girls were me and Leta. One of Father's best friends, Olly was there too. He was like a brother to me. He helped my father come to terms with my mother's death. He was 18. And your father killed him."
It's Newt's turn to open his mouth in shock. I can tell he's feeling guilty.
"Amber. I'm so sorry. I didn't know."
"You still don't. Olly pushed me out the way of an oncoming spell from your father. Your father tried to kill me." I finish.
"He what? I'm so-so sorry, I-I didn't-"
"It's ok. He only tried so I wouldn't go on and carry on doing what Father does." I say, my voice filled with sarcasm.
I feel tears run down my face as I remember that day. The memories come back, flashing before my eyes.
~~~~~~~~~~~

"Amber!"

I watch as Olly rams into me as a green light flies over to us. I feel the light brush against me but hit Olly. I scream when I see his body lying there. Still and lifeless. Leta pulls me away. It's my fault. It's my fault Olly's dead. And it always will be.

~~~~~~~~~~~
"Amber?"
I'm brought back to reality by Newt's calm voice.
"Sorry. I'm sorry." I sniff.
"I'm sorry. I never knew how evil my father actually was."
Newt hugs me. It's relaxing and comforting. When we break, I see Pickett has climbed onto his shoulder.
"Pickett! Get over here!" I whisper.
He refuses. I watch as Newt notices him.
"Sorry Newt. That's my Bowtruckle, Pickett."
"It's ok. Where did you find him?"
"In the woods next to Liberty's father's church."
"Oh."
I smile at him. He smiles back. Pickett looks from Newt to me. He smiles too.
"Anyway, how did you get that black eye?" I ask.
"I didn't trip on my robes, if that's what your thinking." He says.
I giggle.
"You're so clumsy Newt!" I say.
He smiles.
"I know."
We lie against the rock together. It's relaxing. Newt is so sweet. I feel like I'm in love.
Wait, what?
