Delphine woke up hours later, the letter crumpled in her hand held close to her chest.  Slowly Delphine stood up and looked around the room her mind feeling fuzzy from the sleep. Delphine quickly wiped at the tears on her face and began making her way towards her grandmothers bedroom to look the for the box mentioned in the letter. This had been the first time she entered her grandmothers bedroom since her death.

Everything was still in it's place, her bed was neatly made, her pajamas folded on and sitting on the edge of her bed along with a blanket. The dresser had jewelry given to her grandmother from many admirer's she had in her younger years. There were a couple of teddy bears sitting on a shelve beside a mirror. On her dresser there was the hair brush her grandmother had been using on Delphine the day she died.

Delphine walked over to the hairbrush and ran her fingers over the cool handle, she then picked it up and pushed it in the pocket of her sweater. Delphine let out a sigh tearing her gaze from the bedroom she had spent so many nights in when she would have nightmares of herself drowning. Delphine walked over to the bed and pulled the bed sheets up before bending down to look under the bed. It was dark.

Delphine sat back up and looked around biting her bottom lip she looked to the bed side drawer and opened the top one before searching through it. There was a flashlight, Delphine smiled and turned it on bending down again to look under the bed. It came to no surprise for Delphine when she found the underside of her grandmothers bed spotless clean. It made it easier for her to find the black box hidden close to the wall.

Delphine reached her hand forward and grabbed the box before sitting back up with a sigh. She turned the flashlight off and examined the box as she stood up and took a seat on the bed. It was a wooden box painted black engraved with the initials GG in gold letters. Unfortunately, there was a key hole and the box was locked. Delphine let out a groan and put the box down on the bed as she began to search the room for anything that might be the key.

Delphine had no luck, letting out a frustrated groan Delphine picked up the box and walked out of the room back to her own to see if there was anything else in the letter about the key. Delphine picked up the letter and read through it again and again before looking at the back but there was nothing. She then looked inside the envelop but again she found nothing. Think, think! Delphine told herself as she fell back into her bed.

Delphine turned on her side and brought her stuffed dolphin animal beside her hugging it tightly, it had been a gift from her grandmother. "I know you hate when I talk about this my little dolphin, but when I'm long gone, I want you to remember how important this dolphin is." Her grandmother would tell her every birthday.

Delphine never really took time to examine what was so special about the stuffed dolphin toy, she only believed it was special because her grandmother had given it to her, but why was it special to her grandmother? Over the years it had lost an eye and got a stain on it's tail, it was a surprise to the girl that the toy had made it this far in her life considering she took it with her everywhere when was younger.
