'Things change'
People change,
Attitude changes,
And morals drift.
Many things are wrong with these statements.
Wrong with the people that they once were.
Quietly, quietly I watch as the years throw away the person I once loved so greatly.
Greying hair, and people stare.
But that's not the fact of it all.
When the lies come into play,
And the person you once thought was your world,
Becomes the ending of a new chapter.
As they say people change...
I think this is a lie,
They turned into what they were meant to be.
At first you are blinded; blinded by who they were.
Then you're confused about all of the things they said.
Then...
You are the one who has changed.
Made new,
It hurts to see what the world warped them into.
A single stanza can change.
Plot twist,
Now you are all alone,
Nobody here
Nobody home.
All the lights burned out,
All that's left is doubt.
Everything you're trying to be,
Everything you used to see,
All gone,
All seen,
Somehow you wish you'd never lived.
It's hard to say,
The things you keep away,
The things you expel.
The things you underestimate
Leave it there,
Walk away.
You're not the person you once were.
You've changed in the eyes of everyone but you.
Never knowing what you've truly been going through.
