My eyes fluttered open the next day and the first thing I saw was the sunlight shining through my window on the other side of my room. Well, might as well get up. I swung my legs around and, when they hit the cold carpet, a shiver went up my spine. I wandered out of my room and into the livingroom, where Matt sat on one couch and my dad and mom on the other. When I stood inbetween the couches, everyone smiled at me.

"Good morning, sunshine." My dad smiled.

"What time is it?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

"Twelve, you slept in." My mother explained.

"I have good news, if you're up for it." My dad announced.

"Sure." I groaned, not really in the mood but I let him talk.

"I found a team." When the words came out of his mouth, I was fully awake and focasing on him.

"A team?" I asked. "As in a flag football team?"

"Yes, I found one!" He rejoiced. I couldn't hold in my enthusiasm. I started jumping up and down, screaming, and all my family could do was laugh at me. I didn't care, though. He found a team! A flag football team that I can play for! I hugged my mom, dad, and Matt and ran up the stairs to find my phone. I called Nicole and she picked up after the fourth ring.

"Hello?" She asked into the phone.

"I found a team!" I screamed.

"Ow, Connie! My ear!" She cried.

"Sorry." I said.

"It's fine, what were you saying?"

"I found a team!" Now, she screamed and I held the phone away from my ear.

"Ow!" I said.

"YAY!!!! YOU FOUND A TEAM?!?! YAY!!!!!!"

"Okay, okay!" I laughed.

"Phew, I thought I would never get you off my back about that!"

"Hey!"

"Well, it's true!"

"Ha ha ha!" I faked my laugh.

"Hey, I gotta go, but let me know when your games start!"

"Okay, bye."

"Bye." I tossed my phone on my bed and grabbed a football. I jumped down the stairs and tossed the ball at Matt, which hit him in the gut.

"What's this?" He asked.

"A football."

"Duh! What do you expect me to do with it?"

"Throw it outside with me."

"Uh, are you going outside in your pajamas to play football?" I looked at my ducky pajama pants and tank top.

"I look fine, let's go!" We both went outside and Matt through the ball, but it was too high so I had to jump to get it. I caught it with my hands and landed on my back.

"Oh, that was great!" Matt exclaimed.

"Shut up, dork!" I yelled, standing.

"Hey, kids!" My dad called, coming outside.

"Hi, dad!" I said. "When are try-outs?"

"Tomorrow." He said. I dropped the ball and my mouth fell open. Tomorrow? I had twenty four hours to get ready for the try-outs?

"Trying to catch flies?" Matt chuckled. I picked up the ball and through it over his head. "UGH!"

"Ha ha!" I yelled to him. After we ran a couple of plays, we went in side and ate supper. After I was finished, I jogged up the stairs and layed in my bed. If I'm going to be on a football team, I need my rest.
