"Okay, kids," coach called our attention, "remember to get enough water before you leave. Good practice, guys."

I walked over to the large cooler, filled to the top with cold water, and twisted the knob, letting the icey goodness fill up my plastic cup. I started drinking the liquid when I heard footsteps.

"Hi, Connie." I turned around and saw Austin standing there, smiling.

"Hey, Austin." I said, smiling back.

"Um, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today." He said. I could hear the nervousness in his voice.

"Uh, I would love to, Austin, but I have some evil plans of mine to tend to." I said, feeling guilty.

"Ohh." He sounded interested. "Does it have something to do with Matt and Nicole?"

"Yes." I put my cup on top of the cooler. "And a little something I like to call 'getting back together'."

"Ohh, you are an evil genius!" He told me.

"Thank ya, thank ya!" I giggled.

"You have to text me all about it. Or call, which ever one." He said.

"Don't worry, I will." I assure him. "And, maybe, we could hang out some other time."

"Sure, sure." He nodded. "See ya."

"Bye." He walked over to his dad's red Mustang and got in the front seat as they sped off. I gulped down the last bit of my water, starting to feel a cramp coming.

"Hi!" I saw Rikki come up beside me and I swallowed the rest of my water. She was still wearing her practice clothes, just like me, but she had a large, red bag slung over her shoulder. "I'm ready for the sleepover!"

"Awesome." I smiled. "Let's go." We started walking across the field and I tossed my cup away. We both ran up the hill and jumped the fence, she had to throw her bag over first, and we waited for my dad to come get me. When he never showed, I text him.

Me: Waitin 4 u 2 come get me & Rikki.

I waited for about five minutes until he text me.

Dad: Rikki? Why is Rikki coming?

Me: Big sleepover, remember? After u come get me u gotta go get Nicole.

Dad: Oh, yeah! Now I remember. I'll be right there.

Me: Alright, but hurry!!

"He's coming." I told Rikki. She nodded in approval. We waited another ten minutes before he pulled up in his car. Rikki sat on the left, back seat while I sat on the right.

"How was practice, girls?" He asked.

"Great! I'm glad I didn't hit anyone in the head." I said.

"Me too." Rikki spoke with a glare to me. Then, we both started laughing. My dad didn't even ask what we were talking about while he drove. It was silent until dad pulled up in Nicole's driveway. She walked out the front door, a pink bag as big as Rikki's on her shoulder.

I slid over to the middle seat as Nicole opened the back door.

"Hi, Nicole." Dad said.

"Hi, Mr. Williams. Hey, Connie." She greeted us with a warm smile.

"Hey." I said as she climbed in the car. She shut the door and stuffed her bag under her feet. "Nicole, this is Rikki. Rikki, this is Nicole."

"Hi." Nicole waved.

"Hey." Rikki said. They both shared a friendly smile as dad started the drive home. Before we got home, dad stopped at a pizza place and walked inside, leaving us in the car. We stayed silent until we saw a car pull up beside us and a boy got out I knew.

"Hey, Nicole! Would you mind rolling down your window?" Rikki asked.

"Um, sure. Why?" Nicole asked, confused.

"I know that guy." She explained. Nicole looked out her window.

"Hey." She mumbled. "I know him, too." She rolled down her window and Rikki scooted up so the boy could see her better.

"Hey, Sam!" Rikki called. That's who it was! Sam, from football. I knew it!

He looked over at us and smiled, coming over to Nicole's window.

"Hey, Rikki. Hey, Connie." He greeted us. "I guess great minds think alike.

"I guess so." I said, still shocked to see him here.

"You did great at practice, today." Rikki told him.

"Thanks, you looked good out there." He told her. She blushed and I coughed.

"Oh, and you too, Connie." He said.

"Uh huh, sure I did." I said. My dad came out and Sam walked away from our car.

"See ya, Rikki. You too, Connie." He waved.

"Bye!" Rikki waved, back.

"See ya." I called as Nicole rolled up her window.

"So, how do you know him?" Dad asked, setting the five boxes of pizza in the seat beside him.

"He plays on our team, dad." I told him. "He's Rikki's boyfriend."

"No, he's not!" She said. "Austin wouldn't let me date him."

"Austin? Why Austin?" I asked, because I had no idea what Austin had to do with it.

"He's my brother. You didn't know that?" She asked, surprised.

"No, I did not!" I shoved her, playfully. We both giggled.

"So, Nicole, how do you know him?" Rikki asked her.

"Oh, his sister, Lexi, goes to my tumbling practices." She explained.

"Oh, that's cool." She said. The entire ride back was silent.

When we got home, dad took the pizzas to the kitchen and set them on the island.

"Okay, girls. I'm going to bed but you can have as many pizzas as you want, there's drinks in the fridge and you know the rest. Night." Dad walked up the stairs.

"Night!" All three of us called up to him and started laughing. Immediately, we put on our fuzzy pants, tank tops, and animal socks with our hair pulled up, so we could be comfortable.

"Okay, we have all the Twilight movies, Teen Wolf, Hollywood Heights, and Hunger Games. What should we watch?" It didn't take any time at all before they both answered.

"Twilight." They both said, at the same time. I put the DVD in.

"Okay, while the previews are on, I'm going to get us some pizza and drinks." I told them.

"Want some help?" Nicole asked, about to stand.

"No, no! I got it." I assured her. She sat back.

"Okay." she said. I went to the kitchen and got out my cell phone, calling Bryan, one of Matt's friends.

It rang three times before he answered.

"Hey, little sister!" He answered. I giggled. He always called me that.

"Hi, Bryan. Matt wanted me to ask you if you and Justin wanted to come over and spend the night." I told him. Justin is Matt's other friend.

"Uh, sure. I'll just call him."

"Okay, thanks." I told him. "Bye." I hung up and smiled. Perfect. My plan is working.
