Me and Nicole wanted to celebrate us being friends, again, so I invited her over to my house and we planed on going to the mall with Matt and his friends. I really didn't care his friends were coming, I just needed some time away from the field. . . Wow, never thought I'd say those words. . .

My ankle had been feeling better, so I thought it might be a great idea. Better get out and do something while I don't have practice.

I checked my reflection in my full-length mirror before telling myself I looked fine. I was in a pair of light-colored jeans with black and white converse and a black T-shirt with my long hair in a ponytail, drapped over my right shoulder. I chose to wear a little mascara and lip gloss, just for today. I swung my black and white Coach purse, that held my phone, lip gloss, a small mirror, and money, over my shoulder and jogged down the stairs. Matt was leaned up on the wall in blue and white Nike shoes, jeans, and a tight, blue shirt that showed his abs.

"Hey, you ready?" Matt stood straight and I nodded.

"Yepp. I see you wanted to show off your abs to Nicole? Ohh la la." I whinked. He just rolled his eyes.

"Maybe." He shrugged. "We're dating, remember? I thought you were okay with it." I remembered the day I walked in on my brother and my best friend kissing and shivered. It still gave me the creeps.

"I'm okay with it, but that doesn't mean I want any lovey-dovey junk near me." I wrinkled my nose. "So, save it for date night, lover boy." I poked his arm.

"Hey, where's Bryan and Justin?" I asked. The two boys I just mentioned is Matt's "buds" who were supost to help carry mine and Nicole's bags. Ah, the joy of seeing my brother carry all Nicole's clothes while he holds my purse.

"Their girlfriends wanted to see a movie with them, so they ditched." He huffed.

"And you didn't go?" I raised my eyebrows.

"No. I was going to be a loyel brother and go shopping with my sister and my girlfriend. Oh my gosh, what kind of guy am I?" He exclaimed. I giggled.

"The best." I batted my eyelashes.

"Mhm." He mumbled. "I better be."

"Well, what are we going to do now? We need to have someone else there to carry our bags." I pouted.

"Well, what about that boy from your football team? Austin?" My eyes went wide and my mouth dropped.

"How do you know Austin?" I asked.

"Connie, I'm not stupid." I scoffed. "And I got his number." I gasped.

"How did you get his number?" I demanded.

"That day you hurt your ankle, he gave me his number so I could text him how you're doing." He explained, pulling out his phone.

"No, Matt! Don't call him!" It was too late. He had the phone to his ear.

"It's ringging." He whispered to me. I reached out to snatch his phone, but he held it above my head. Man I hate being short.

"Matt, give me that phone!" I whisper-yelled. He started walking away.

"Hey, Austin. It's Matt, Connie's brother." He said, into the mic. I wanted to scream at him, but changed my mind when Matt started laughing.

"No, she's fine. Acctually, she's going shopping with her best friend and she was wondering if you wanted to come, too." There was a long pause. "Yeah, good luck. I'm going too, though. . . I know. . . Yeah. . . Okay, see ya then." He hung up and gave me a satisfied grin while I gave him a heartless glare.

"He'll meet us there." The doorbell rang. I opened the door and saw Nicole. Her bangs were pulled back and she was wearing dark jeans with a purple, strapless top and black flats. She, also, had her pink and purple Coach bag with her that, I'm sure, had every makeup invented stuffed inside, considering she had blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss on. I looked back at Matt, who was starring at her, and then back to Nicole, who was blushing under his gaze. Their eyes were locked.

I cleared my throat and Nicole looked to me.

"Hey, girl, you ready?" She asked, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

"Yeah." I nodded, catching a wiff of the Justin Bieber purfume on her shirt. I had put on Emma Watson's new perfume and I'm sure Matt was wearing his AXE, which he knew me and Nicole loved.

"Okay, lets go." We walked into the front yard and I gave them a serious look.

"Look, y'all. I'm fine with you two dating and everything, but no lovey stuff around me, okay?" I asked. They nodded. Nicole got in the front seat of Matt's Camaro and I was stuck in the back, alone, listening to their conversation, which consisted of "I missed you" and "I missed you more" and then fallowed with the holding hands and a kiss on the cheek. I just hit my head agensed the window and tried my best not to puke.

It seemed like hours till we got to the mall and I could, finally, get away from them.

"Connie, stay close." Matt yelled and Nicole giggled. I saw their hands linked and I gaged. They just laughed at me and, as soon as I got to the front door, I saw Austin, standing there in dark jeans and a gray shirt with black and white converse and his hair swooped to the side.

"Hey, Connie!" He waved. I didn't even realize I was starring at him till he gave me his crooked grin and my heart melted.

"Hey, Austin." I smiled. "You're thirteen, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, why?" He nodded.

"How did you get here?" I asked.

"My dad drove me here." He said.

"Oh, well, Matt will drive you home won't you, Matt?" At least, if Austin came, I'd have someone to keep my mind off the two love birds. Speaking of them, I turned to find my brother giving Nicole a kiss on the cheek.

"Yeah." He said, smilling and not bothering to look up. I groaned and looked back at Austin, who was grinning.

"Please excuse my my horrible brother and bestfriend who might make out any time now." I whispered.

"I guess we better get to shopping then, huh?" He whinked. I smiled.

"I guess so."

By the time we were done shopping, it was dark and I had only baught a dress, two shirts, and a pair of cotton shorts. Nicole, on the other hand, had seven bags full of everything in the store.

We walked out to Matt's car and Austin opened my door for me.

"Thanks." I giggled, like an idiot.

"You're very welcome." He smiled and closed my door, joining me in the backseat. After Nicole and Matt got confortable with the shopping bags everywhere, we drove off.

"I thought you were never gonna stop buying things." I told Nicole.

"Please, that's not even how much I usually buy on my shopping day." Nicole held Matt's hand.

"I'd hate to see her on her normal shopping day." Austin whispered to me. I giggled and he took my hand in his. I'm sure I was blushing and I was thankful that it was dark so he couldn't see. Then, he started to lean in. I leaned in, too, and we were so close to kissing. The smell of AXE made me lean in more.

But, then, headlights shined through the window of the car and the Camaro crashed into a truck.
