Braelin's POV

Gym had to be my favourite period of all time. Why? Well besides the fact that I got an A for doing nothing but being fit, this was the one class I had with Cameron. Speaking of, I couldn't help but sneak glances at him in between stretches while he and Chad were laughing.

"Braelin?" Selena said snapping me back to reality.

"Yeah."

"You are so sprung," she said shaking her head.

"I am not."

"Don't be ashamed, I'm sprung too. It happens to the best of us," she said with a laugh before the gym teacher blew his whistle causing all conversations to stop.

"Alright students gather around, it's time to decide what sport were playing today, any suggestions?"

"How about basketball?" Selena offered and there were a few murmurs of agreement before Stacey spoke up.

"I hate to be the one to point it out but clearly one of us has an advantage in that sport," she said with a smirk and I rolled my eyes.

"How about we do track and field?" I offered before turning my attention back to Stacey. "Or will Usain Bolt be a problem too?"

"You know what—"

"How about we just do Baseball girls?" The coach said before some of the guys started chuckling including, you guessed it, Chad. "What's so funny boys?"

"Girls playing a man sport. I mean come on, baseball is for men."

"Which is why there is a women's baseball team right?" Stacey shot back and for a minute I was proud of her for actually being educated on something other than black stereotypes.

"Look, I'm just saying that it's a man sport and I would hate for you girls to break a nail playing a man sport, right Cameron?" Chad said raising his hand awaiting his high five but instead, Cameron shook his head.

"Sorry man, I don't believe that."

"Seriously man?" He asked annoyed and Cameron nodded.

"Women can do anything men can do, sometimes better," Cameron told him and I couldn't help but smile. That was my boyfriend!

"Man whatever, what about you Dylan?"

"I plead the fifth."

"What?"

"My girlfriend is crazy man, I'm not saying shit," he said and I couldn't help but laugh. At least he knew how crazy Layla was.

"Whatever, both of you are some scared bitches but I'm not. Women weren't made to do shit except for cooking, cleaning and have kids and yes in that order."

"Mr. Kingsley go to the office now!" The gym teacher yelled and Chad stormed out of the gym never giving another glance to the rest of us. "Well, now that that is over with how about we get on the game. Cameron and Dylan you guys can be captains and choose your teams while I make a call to the office," the gym teacher walked away leaving us alone and everyone's attention to Cameron and Dylan.

"Alright I'll go first," Dylan said before turning his attention to the students in the class. "Braelin." Confused I walked over to where he was and noticed the glare Cameron was giving Dylan.

"Dude, you chose my girlfriend."

"Yup."

"Why?"

"Have you seen Braelin at sports?" He said high fiving me before he threw his arm over my shoulder. "She's my secret weapon."

"Braelin wouldn't go against me," Cameron said looking up at me. "Right babe?"

"Sorry blue eyes but alls fair in love and sports," I said and he put his hands over his heart, pretending to be hurt.

"So that's how it is now huh?"

"Yup."

"And I was going to go easy on you but not anymore. You better be ready to play baby."

"I was born ready and let's make this interesting then, the winner should get something."

"Like what?"

"I don't know, I'll let you know when I win," I said causing him to smile.

"We'll see."

"I think I'm going to throw up," Stacey said loudly ruining the moment and I rolled my eyes before Cameron and Dylan continued to pick more people until finally everyone was chosen but unfortunately we ended up with Stacey on our team.

"Everybody on a team?" The gym teacher asked leaving his office and we all nodded. "Great, Braelin just take off that necklace of yours and we can start."

"My necklace?" I asked grabbing onto it tightly.

"Yup. It's school regulations, no jewelry when playing sports."

"But it means a lot to me."

"I'm sure it does Braelin but we can't make an exception for just one student, it just wouldn't be fair."

"Yeah Braelin, it wouldn't be fair," Stacey repeated and I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Did I ask for an echo?

"Alright, I'll put it away," rushing into the girl's change room, I took off my locket and opened it looking into the picture that would always calm me. God, he was gorgeous. Taking a deep breath, I locked it back before placing it in my bag gently, closing it and leaving the change room.

"Who's ready to play some Baseball!"

"What was that about you winning?" Cameron asked and I shook my head.

"You only won because you didn't have Stacey on your team running away from the ball every time it came near her."

"I wasn't running!" She said loudly. "I saw something on the ground."

"50 feet away?" I asked causing everyone to laugh before Stacey huffed and stormed into the change room with the rest of the girls.

"Don't change the topic; what's my prize?"

"What do you want?" I asked and he pretended to think about it before pulling me into him by my waist.

"Agree to a date with me."

"Where?"

"Don't worry just agree."

"At least tell me when."

"Nope. You're just going to have to trust me."

"Fine. But with all this secrecy it better be amazing."

"It will be, trust me," he said placing a kiss on the top of my head before I headed back into the girls change room. I headed straight for my stuff and quickly changed before opening my bag and reaching for my locket but instead of feeling the solid gold, I felt nothing. Trying to keep my calm, I looked through the entire bag, taking everything out but it still wasn't there and I could feel my blood running cold. It was gone...
