"Logan, what the hell?" It was the first phrase Logan heard that morning when he awoke from a blissful darkness.

He opened his eyes before closing them as he caught sight of the bright light shining in the room through a crack in his curtains.

"I have to be at school in thirty minutes and you're sleeping," Dan mumbled. "You're fucking unbelievable, Logan." It was silent for a few peaceful moments before a pillow was slapped across his face.

His eyes opened again before he shot up out of his bed. "What the fuck was that for?" He mumbled as his hand rubbed the spot that the pillow had hit.

His brother rolled his eyes. "I have to get to school. You're supposed to bring me, remember? Since I have no other way of getting there," he said before throwing his hands up in the air as he caught sight of his brother's sleepy expression. "I don't want to be late to school. Do you know how bad that would look for future schools? What would..." Dan continued on with his spiel but Logan zoned out. It was a speech that he had heard a million times before.

He never understood why Dan liked school so much and wanted to do his best since he was just glad that he graduated and got out of that hell hole.

A loud yawn escaped his lips as he caught the time on his alarm clock. Perhaps it hadn't been the smartest idea to go out with a colleague that he didn't even like last evening when he knew that he was going to have to bring his brother to school, but it was his day off.

Shouldn't he have a nice relaxing day on his day off?

"Hurry up, Logan," his brother complained.

He rolled his eyes before rolling out of his bed. His hands reached for the first t-shirt and jeans that he could find that were strewn on a chair in his room.

After he changed, he headed into the bathroom and splashed some water in his face to wake himself up. It didn't seem to work since he was still blinking away sleepers when he walked towards the kitchen.

Dan was tapping his foot impatiently against the carpeted floor with his arms crossed against his chest. "Are you ready to go yet?"

"Of course, I am. Calm down, Dan," he muttered as he grabbed the keys on the counter.

Dan gaped at him. "What do you mean that I should calm down? Do you know..." Logan zoned out again at the start of a second speech. Honestly it was like talking to some oversensitive teenage girl sometimes. Nothing he said was the right thing. Although he should have known that telling him to calm down would sent have him into another hissy fit.

But damn it, he was tired. And it was his day off.

With large steps he walked into his car. Even the sight of his car couldn't wake him up this morning. And he loved his car and cars in general.

His brother slammed the car door. He was silent but he knew that he shouldn't be happy about that silence.

His hand rubbed his forehead before reaching to start the car.

"Are you hungover?" His brother asked. He didn't let him answer before he started another tirade.

"Dan for the love of god will you please shut up," he yelled at his brother finally silencing him. He was pleased to see that his brothers' eyes had widened and his body had slumped back into his seat. "Can I just have a moment without you complaining to me?"

A silence was his answer.

"Thank you," he silently muttered.

The car ride to school was spent in silence for the first part of the twenty minute drive. His brother could have gone to the high school closer by, but he had convinced his dad to allow Dan to go to the private high school. It had a great reputation and his brother just loved school.
