 Plane rides were amazing.

They really were.

Especially since the last days before the trip had been hectic.

Logan had been freaking out about his brother staying at home by himself with Nic and had made a whole list of things that they needed to do. She thought that she sometimes babied her brother, but she had nothing on Logan. In fact before they had left, she had quickly scrapped some of the things of the list.

Her little brother also needed constant reassurance. If this trip had just been for vacation purposes, then she would have canceled it. Although Nic had put a brave front on, she could tell that he was nervous on staying home alone with Nic. Despite her many reassurances and talks, Nic was still upset that she had left.

She felt guilty about that, but right now she wanted to be selfish, because she wanted to know who her parents were. Besides if they were in Chile, then they had the right to know about her existence.

Otherwise she would feel guilty about that for the rest of her life.

It was a catch-22 really. No matter what decision she would take, she would end up feeling guilty.

She just hoped that Dan could help Nic with his fears and worries.

And then there was the stress surrounding the fact that she might end up meeting her birth parents and the chance that she might not.

Smiles had brought her through the last week and she was relieved that she could enjoy her music while resting her forehead on the cool window.

Logan had been distracted the whole ride by the movies and tv series on the little screen in front of him. They had barely exchanged words since they had entered the second plane in Houston except a comment about the cool screens and the surprisingly good food.

Not that she minded.

Her mind needed some time to for itself and it made her happy to see Logan so exuberant after the stress that he also had experienced last week.

It was nice enough of him that he was going with her. He didn't need to do that. He really didn't. But it didn't mean that she didn't appreciate the fact that he did come with her, because she did need someone to talk to.

And Logan was the only person that she could talk to about this.

Except for Elaine of course.

On the plane ride to Santiago she finally got some sleep. She hadn't gotten as much as sleep as she liked the last couple of nights. Not that she needed a lot of sleep, but she just felt better rested. Most people did.

When she got off the plane, she was ready to go to the hotel as was Logan. Logan had not slept at all so he couldn't wait to go to the hotel to finally got some sleep.

But unfortunately they couldn't check in yet.

They arrived at the hotel around 11:30 in the morning and check-in time wasn't until two. It wasn't unusual. The hotel that she worked for had the exact same policy, so it didn't upset her too much.

Logan was upset.

The receptionist told them about a good place for lunch.

The lunch allowed Logan's mood to flourish. She also convinced him to try mate tea and managed to give him an addiction to it on the first try. It wasn't surprising though. There were few people that could resist especially if some sugar was added.

They walked around a little bit through the city. It wasn't her first time in Santiago, but she enjoyed Logan's reactions as he took everything in. He was particularly interested in the mountains surrounding the city.
