Why She Won't Talk To Me

Alex Fierro's POV

I was having a nightmare I wanted to badly escape. I knew I couldn't, but this is what is was. 

"Magnus, why did you invite me to join you in Midgard?" I ask him.

"Because I came to tell you the truth of life, everyone hates you, it's all your fault for everything wrong in my life because of your awful father," He says harshly. 

"Magnus, why would you ever say something so rude?" I say in a choked voice, tears stinging in my eyes. 

"Like I said before, it's the truth, Alex, the truth, the truth is that you don't know yourself the way you think you do, and the truth is you hide under a layer of fake confidence, the truth is your a fake Alex and everyone knows it, everyone, just a fake, lying," He says very harshly while I cry silent tears, "I hate you, I hate your father, I hate those nicknames you gave me, I hate the life I have when you're here, I hate you"

I thought he was the only one who knew me, the only one who cared and always knew my gender. I thought wrong. I fell to my knees, crying loudly in the ugly way I do. I was such a fool. Then it fades to black......

Magnus Chase's POV

It's been almost three days since I have had a full conversation with Alex. She has been shying away from me and has been very quiet and drawn back. I didn't understand why. Was it something I did or said? Was this because of something else completely? I had a plan to corner her after dinner and see what was wrong with her. My mind couldn't accept the fact that she hasn't talked to me for three days, my brain doesn't like that fact at all. It's weird that I feel something towards her, something more than friendship. It's crazy to think that I might have a crush on her. Then something stirs me out of my day-dreaming. It was a knock on the door and I quickly get up to inspect it. I open it to find a very annoyed Mallory standing in front of me. 

"Why hasn't Alex talked to us the past few days?" She says in her thick accent. 

"Why do you assume I know?" I retort, "I want to know why she isn't talking to us either,"

"How do you even know that she is a girl today? Like how do you do that?!" Mallory says.

"I don't know, probably has something to do with my powers of Frey, but seriously, what of something is seriously wrong with her?" I ask.

"What do you mean? I killed her yesterday! She couldn't have any diseases or get sick!" Mallory fires back. 

"No, I mean in her mind, like what if someone died in the real world that she loved or what if Loki did something to her?" I say exasperatedly.  

"Well then go talk to her if you're worried so much, I need to go talk to Halfborn," Mallory says and walks away from the door. 

"Correction, you're mad so you want to go make out with your boyfriend!" I shout at her.

"SHUT UP MAGNUS OR I WILL KILL YOU!" She shouts back at me and opens/closes the door to Halfborn's room. 

I get an uneasy feeling. What if something did happen and Alex is not talking to us because of it? What if some prophecy said we were bad news and Alex ditched us so she wouldn't get hurt? I walk out of my room and shut the door. I then start to walk towards Alex's door. When I get there I knock softly on the door. 

"Alex? Can I come in?" I ask her.

"No" I hear her muffled reply from inside.

"Why haven't you talked us in the past few days Alex? I am getting worried," I say because it's true.

"You? Worried about me? Why are you worried about me Magnus? Don't you have better things to do?" She quips.

"Not really, but I am your friend Alex and I am worried about you, did something happen? What's wrong Alex?" I say.

"Fine," She says through the door, "It's because of this nightmare I have been having for a couple of days, I am just scared it's true"

Then the door opens to show Alex, a sad, tear-stained, version.

"I'll tell you, but you have to promise not to laugh because it's been taunting me for these past few days," Alex says in a choked, distressed, dismal voice. 

"I promise not to laugh," I say and a small smile begins to form on Alex's face. 

She says, "Good because if you did, I would kill you, come on in, and I will recount the horror start to finish,"
