Jesse POV:
I closed my locker softly as Lukas ran up to me. "Jesse! Guess what!" he said. I turned around to face him. "What," I said. He beamed at me as he held up a small pile of papers. "I finished chapter one of my book!" he said. I smiled at him. "Lukas, that's great! I'm so happy for you," I said, hugging him. He chuckled. "Anyways, you want to read what I have so far?" he asked. I thought for a moment. "Actually, I'd like to wait until the whole thing is done. It'd be nice to read the whole thing at once," I said. He kept beaming at me. "Okay," he said before skipping off to class.
Lukas POV:
I beamed at Jesse. I had to admit I was a little disappointed that she would wait to read it, but I guess it was better if she reads the whole thing at once. I think she'll be happy to find the little surprise I left her on the first page. No one else will notice the little gift I had left for her to see, but I know she'll recognize it immediately. I smiled and sighed as I made my way to class. I love that girl so much.
