"Ayeeeeeee I'm glad you could make it today Melanie!!!" Jarvis said grabbing my shoulders and shaking me
"That's what best friends are for!!!" I respond grabbing his shoulders
Jarvis and I have been best friends ever since freshman year, he's like family! We even went to the same college, LSU, and he went on to the NFL and I own my own boutique here in New York now. Jarvis recently got traded to the New York Giants so he lives here now. I decided to come to his practice today, so we could hang out after. Feels good to finally be reunited.
"Mel, you need to meet my friend Odell" Jarvis says as we walk to the locker room
"Sounds familiar"
"Blonde curls on top, dances a lot..." Jarvis says laughing
"Oh yeaaaaaaa Beckham!" I say remembering
"That's me" I hear a unfamiliar voice say
I turn and look and he's standing there with the biggest smile on his face.
"JUICEEEEEEEEE!!!" he says as they bro hug
"What's up Dell, this is Melanie" Jarvis says pointing in my direction
Odell looks me up and down and smiles "I've heard a lot about you" and he holds his hand out
I extend my hand to shake it but he quickly pulls me into a hug and says "Stop being shy girl, what's up"
"Dell, you should come out with us to lunch" Jarvis adds
"What's for lunch?"
"Haven't decided yet, any ideas?"
"Mickey D's!!!" Odell suggests
"Oh no, I don't eat stuff like that" I chime in
"You fancy huh?" Odell says sarcastically
All I can do is laugh at everything he says "No I just prefer to feed my body better things"
"Well from what I can see, you're doing a good job" Odell says looking down
I know I'm blushing right now and Jarvis looks awkward
"Anyways, I know a place let's just go" Jarvis says
As we are walking out Jarvis had to go back to the locker room because he forgot his phone.
Odell and I are just standing awkwardly until he says "You have really pretty eyes"
"Thanks, you have nice....hair" I laugh
"You really think so???" he says rubbing through his blonde curls
"Yea, its unique" I say smiling and he smiles back
"Thanks" he says winking "So what do you do again?" he asks
"I own my own boutique"
"Wow, fancier than I thought" he laughs
"Not as fancy as being in the NFL" I smile
"Alright, you riding with me Dell?" Jarvis asks as he makes his way back over to us
"I guess"
"Alright, I'll meet you guys there" I say getting ready to walk out
"Well you can't ride alone" Odell says walking with me
"I'm a big girl I think I can handle it" I laugh
"I see you guys are getting along well" Jarvis says staring at the both of us smirking
Odell puts his arm around my shoulders and says "I might just steal your best friend Juice"
As we walk to my car Odell stops and says "this is your whip?"
