Aftermath

"Hello, MELANIE, are you awake?" I faintly heard as I was being shaken

"Who...what?" I said grabbing my head because I have the worst pain ever right now

It feels like someone is beating a drum inside my head

and when the person got closer I instantly knew who it was without opening my eyes

"Dell" I smiled

"I'm right here Mel" he said rubbing his thumb over the bruise on my head

"Owww" I flenched

"Sorry" he quickly responded and he looked nervous

I couldn't help but laugh at his facial expression "Just kidding"

He moved the hair out my face and asked "How do you feel?"

"Where am I?" I asked sitting up

"Hospital" he responded as if I should already know that

"How long have I been here?"

"About two hours, the doctor said you might have a concussion"

"Are we married?" I asked because I was feeling a bit delusional

"Not yet Mel" he laughed leaning in to kiss me

It's been such a long time since we've kissed so I kind of forced him closer to me

We stayed like that for a while until the doctor came in

Odell jumped back and the doctor said "Ummm ma'am your monitors going off, I think your heart rate is up"

I looked at Odell who was hysterically laughing as Ben and Jarvis walked in

"Sorry, I think I just got a little excited" I smiled

The doctor looked at me then Odell, then me again and walked out

A different doctor walked in and asked them to step out

"Ms. Lakes right?" he asked

"Yes" I responded annoyed, I just wanted to get out of here

"I need to make sure you don't have a concussion, so we're going to run a few tests. Do you think you could stand up for me?"

"Sure!" I said jumping up and instantly falling back down

"That's a sign right there, your balance is off. Are you dizzy at all?"

"Ummmm...just a little" I said throwing my head back

"Are you having any memory loss?"

"I DON'T KNOW, I JUST WOKE UP"

"Ma'am I'm only trying to help you, can you tell me what was the cause of the incident?"

"I...I can't really remember, I'm fine, I don't need any help" I said tearing up again

I've been crying way too much lately

"Okay, maybe one of the young men outside could help you to cooperate."

The doctor walked back and a few minutes later Odell walked back in

"Odell can you please get me out of here"

"Melanie, you have to get better" he said leaning down pecking my lips

"I am better" I said pulling him to sit down next to me

"Well you have a concussion and he said you can't leave until you realize that and are willing to take the steps necessary to get better" Odell said in his I'm guessing doctor voice

"Ok, but I want you to be in here with me. I'm tired of being interrogated." I said pulling his face back down

We started kissing again but this time he pulled away "The faster we get this over with, the faster we can leave"

"Fine" I mumbled as the doctor walked back in

As I made my way out the hospital Odell was helping me walk and Ben handed me a bouquet of roses

"Awwwwww Ben this is nice of you"

"Well now that you're apart of the family, when you hurt, I hurt"

He's always joking, it's good to have someone like him around

Jarvis pulled the car around and opened the door for me to get in the passenger side

"Thanks Juice" Odell said as he helped me in

Odell got in the drivers seat and they got in the backseat

"Odell..." I said as he pulled off

"What?" he answered as he pulled out the lot

"What happened to--" I started

"He was arrested"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS" I yelled

"Yep" Jarvis answered

"He's in jail?!"

"Yes" they all answered simultaneously

"What about my stuff?" I asked

"Already back at my house"

"Good...wait your house?"

"You're moving in with me" he answered nonchalantly

"Oh I am?" I laughed and turned towards him and Jarvis laughed to

"I figured we could get a head start on what it feels like living with each other"

"Alright, I'm down" I smiled and looked out the window

Odell turned on 'Gimme That' by Chris Brown and we all started dancing and singing with the top down

The music was giving me a headache and I felt really dizzy

I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be a buzzkill, this is just the aftermath
