There's a popular theory that the Evil Queen and Mother Gothel are the same person. I, however, think that's incredibly unlikely. But I admit, they DO look similarly, maybe enough for Gothel to be her daughter? Now, we know the Evil Queen is an incredibly vain woman, so who's to say she didn't have children just to ensure that her beauty lives on for eternity. Then, when we first see Gothel in Tangled, she's incredibly old and uses a magic flower to live through the founding of Corona. Also, given the appearance of the buildings seen in Snow White and Tangled, it's likely that Snow White takes place before Tangled, possibly even the centuries that Gothel has lived.
Also, the last we see of the Evil Queen is her getting squashed by a boulder and having her remains eaten by vultures. I highly doubt she's survived that.
